The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) will temporarily close Foster’s Ferry Public Boat Ramp on the Warrior River beginning Monday, April 1, 2025.
The ramp, located off Highway 43 near I-20/59 in Foster’s near Tuscaloosa, will close for a variety of facility upgrades. During the closure, the parking lot will be repaired and re-paved. The current parking lot drainage issues will be repaired, new security lights will be installed, and a new restroom will be installed. The renovations are expected to be completed in approximately two or three months. A reopening date will be announced when available.
This is a joint project of ADCNR and Tuscaloosa County. Funding for the project was obtained through the Sport Fish Restoration Program, which is supported through excise taxes on the sale of outboard motor fuel and fishing equipment, through the sale of Alabama fishing licenses and Innovate Alabama, a statewide public-private partnership focused on entrepreneurship, technology and innovation with a mission to help businesses grow roots in Alabama. Tuscaloosa County is scheduled to provide the services and labor to repair and grade the parking lot to fix the drainage issue.
Anglers and boaters who would like to obtain more information about this and other public boating access areas provided by ADCNR should visit http://boatramps.dcnr.alabama.gov/ or call the Fisheries Section at 334-242-3471.
