Bowling Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament On Watts Bar Lake

 ROCKWOOD, Tenn. (Sept. 10, 2012) – Jonathan Bowling of Harriman, Tenn., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 28 pounds, 11 ounces to win the Bass Fishing League Volunteer Division super tournament on Watts Bar Lake in Rockwood on Sunday. For his victory, Bowling earned $4,540.

     

     Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

          2nd:   Joe Lee, Knoxville, Tenn., 10 bass, 21-10, $2,270.

          3rd:   Tim Hicks, Kingsport, Tenn., six bass, 19-9, $1,515.

          4th:   Wesley Strader, Spring City, Tenn., eight bass, 19-5, $1,059 + $1,000 Evinrude Bonus.

          5th:    Glenn Carter, Rockwood, Tenn., eight bass, 18-10, $908.

          6th:    Larry Neal, Piney Flats, Tenn., seven bass, 15-13, $832.

          7th:    Craig Powers, Rockwood, Tenn., eight bass, 15-4, $757.

          8th:    Jonathan Henry, Grant, Ala., five bass, 14-10, $681.

          9th:    Tee Watkins, East Point, Ky., six bass, 13-11, $605.

          10th: J.R. Henard, Rogersville, Tenn., four bass, 12-8, $530.

     Ron Lane of Flagler Beach, Fla., weighed in six bass totaling 19 pounds, 9 ounces Sunday to win $2,134 in the co-angler division.

     Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

          2nd:   Darren Kelly, Wartburg, Tenn., six bass, 15-8, $1,067.

          3rd:   Jason Yates, Dandridge, Tenn., four bass, 12-4, $712. 

          4th:    Nick Sperounis, Lawrenceville, Ga., five bass, 12-1, $498.

          5th:    Don Little, Loudon, Tenn., four bass, 11-12, $427.

          6th:    Joshua Metz, Knoxville, Tenn., three bass, 8-6, $391.

          7th:    Larry Kelley, Knoxville, Tenn., three bass, 8-5, $356.

          8th:    Sam Texidor, Corryton, Tenn., three bass, 8-2, $320.

          9th:    Jason Ridenour, Loudon, Tenn., three bass, 7-8, $285.

          10th: Matt Brown, Harriman, Tenn., four bass, 7-3, $249.

     The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 18-20 Regional Championship on Pickwick Lake in Florence, Ala. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
