Steckler Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament On Lake Of The Ozarks

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. (March 3, 2014) – Cory Steckler of Rocky Mount, Mo., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 21 pounds, 4 ounces Saturday to win the Bass Fishing League Ozark Division tournament on Lake of the Ozarks. For his victory, Steckler earned $3,889.      Steckler said that he caught his fish throwing an umbrella rig in 8- to 15-feet of water in the North Shore area of the lake. Rounding out the top 10 pros were:             2nd:   Jay Hulsey, Bourbon, Mo., five bass, 19-9, $1,944            3rd:   Steve Ruff, Wentzville, Mo., five bass, 18-3, $1,297            4th:    Reggie Crabdree, Park Hills, Mo., five bass, 17-14, $907            5th:    Jeremy Medina, Camdenton, Mo., five bass, 17-6, $778            6th:    Mark Tucker, Kirkwood, Mo., five bass, 16-5, $713            7th:    Andre Dickneite, Freeburg, Mo., five bass, 15-15, $648            8th:    Shawn Kowal, Linn Creek, Mo., five bass, 15-4, $583            9th:    Dan Brueggemann, Antioch, Ill., five bass, 14-15, $519            10th: Steve Ortiz, Lawrence, Kan., five bass, 14-0, $454       Billy Hicks of Richmond, Mo., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 12 ounces Saturday to win $1,944 in the co-angler division. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
