LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. – Matt Cash of Cincinnati, Ohio, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 9 pounds, 1 ounce Saturday to win the Bass Fishing League Buckeye Division tournament on the Ohio River/Tanners Creek. For his victory, Cash earned $3,842.

“I was fishing the main river targeting current and current breaks,” said Cash. “I had pre-practiced the week before and was able to find fish, but then water levels dropped and I had to make some adjustments on Saturday. I covered a lot of water, making a milk run to about 10 key spots.

“I caught five bass and used five different baits, all reaction. My bag included smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass. The baits really didn’t have as much to do with catching the fish as much as the area did.

“On Saturday I was having some issues with my boat and I really have to thank Wieda’a Marina for getting me up and running.”
