
“I was fishing the main river targeting current and current breaks,” said Cash. “I had pre-practiced the week before and was able to find fish, but then water levels dropped and I had to make some adjustments on Saturday. I covered a lot of water, making a milk run to about 10 key spots.
“I caught five bass and used five different baits, all reaction. My bag included smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass. The baits really didn’t have as much to do with catching the fish as much as the area did.
“On Saturday I was having some issues with my boat and I really have to thank Wieda’a Marina for getting me up and running.”

The next BFL Buckeye Division tournament is scheduled for Sept. 15-16 on Indian Lake in Lakeview, Ohio. After the fifth Buckeye Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 11-13 Regional Championship on Lake Barkley in Kuttawa, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
