Catt, first of all, they haven't moved Toledo Bend. It is still there, I was able to find my trailer on Yocum after three or four months absents. Looked a little different with all the grass, weeds, and bushes.
With Dixie Youth All-Stars and travel ball over, I promised my twelve year old grandson and two of his friends ,I would take them to the lake for a week of some swimming, knee boarding, bream fishing, and trying to learn to ski!
I was able to get away one night with my grandson for his first night bass fishing Monday July 7, between 7:30 pm to midnight. Fished main lake points at Wilson's creek in fifteen feet, both directions, to deep and then shallow, found them in shallow. With this being his first night fishing experience there where some bad moments, bird's nests, mosquitoes, can't see, I'm hungry, I need to pee, setting hook on grass bits, etc. Great learning experience for him.
The young fella was not able to land one, but, hung in there like a trooper (proud papi). I was able to catch, 1 ea. 4 1/2 lber, 3 ea. 2lbers. Caught fish on Zoom 6" G-tail in Junebug, using 4/0 straight shank round bend hooks as recommended by the master for better hook ups. Worked!!!! Thanks.
Great week with grandson and friends. Making many memories for them and especially for me.
Mguidroz, I owe you a fishing trip, preferably at night, will be getting in touch with you
