crankbait2009 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 With spring and summer upon us, that means RAIN!!! For those of you that fish in the rain, what are some light weight rain jackets that you wear to keep dry but NOT hot in the summer months? Any that are inexpensive but good enough quality? Quote
Super User tomustang Posted April 2, 2012 Super User Posted April 2, 2012 For cheap, I usually buy when the seasons over, can't beat the 'make way for the next season items' price Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 I like Frog Toggs for spring & summer lightweight rain gear. 1 Quote

crankbait2009 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 as for the frogg toggs, would it be possible to post a link of the specific type? I see a lot of froggs toggs that range from 30-100+ dollars, just for a jacket. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 3, 2012 Super User Posted April 3, 2012 For cheap, just buy a poncho at Walmarts. I carry one and it works just fine for a surprise rain. If you actually plan to fish in the rain, you need something much more substantial. I recommend Cabels's Guideware. Quote
endless Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Speaking of Froggtoggs, this is the one I got and I'm sure others are mentioning maybe? http://www.froggtogg...atureSuits.shtm They work fine just their not breathable like they say. I burn up in mine, lol. But if do get one remember to always button up as well. If order online go an extra size or 2. The jacket if not changed are short in the arms and to the waist. I know our local walmart carries I think the full suit. Quote
Zoff Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I just picked up a set from Bass Pro. Light and cheap. Just what I needed... On sale now... Jacket REG $19.99 now $14.77 Bibs REG $24.00 now $14.77 Quote
crankbait2009 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Has anyone tried these jackets by Frog Toggs? http://www.basspro.c...05011916/290161 I was looking at the BPS version and a lot of the reviews mentioned that it starts peeling and isn't meant for long term......anyone else have those issues? Packard Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I have a pair of REI rain pants that are lightweight and the bottom half zips off and converts to shorts if it stops raining or you are too hot. I just wear a light rain jacket that packs into a small bag when it stops raining. Quote
BrianSnat Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Marmot Precip rainwear is not too expensive Quote
Diablos Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I wear a Columbia Watertight jacket for summer rain...I think it was $59. They also make $40 rain paints. Columbia Thunderstorm. Quote
