Recently spent the day on Lake Erie catching smallmouth on tubes, we had a great day but ran into a problem with fluorocarbon getting chewed up by zebra mussels. We switched to braid after breaking off some fish but our catches defiantly slowed down. Does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with dragging a bait in zebra mussel infested areas?

Unfortunately I don't...I'm definitely interested in hearing from other people as well. Only solution I came up with was watch your line and retie often. :Idontknow:

Problem with braid is the rocks.

I think this is why I like the Trilene XT line.....It seems to hold up a litle better in those mussel infested areas a tad better.

I just retie and check my line often I usually stick with flouro braid seems to handle it worse then anything out there.
