tsparks Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I've been catching a few here and there, but nothing great. What has your luck been? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 30, 2012 Super User Posted March 30, 2012 Fished Pickwick in Florence, AL. Started out with The Rig targeting stripers. 16 fish between 7:00 and 10:00, 225-250 lbs! Trailered to another location to target bass and stopped for lunch. Fished from about 11:30 to 3:30. Caught 21 bass and an assortment of other species. No lunkers, but the best five were 20+. We were just fun fishing, of course, but friends said in competition you need 25+ to be in the money right now. The bass were all caught on Norman Fat Boys, Red Eyed Shad and Keitech Swing Impact Fat. Other options might have worked, but this is all we threw. We were worn out and called it quits at beer-thirty! Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted March 30, 2012 Super User Posted March 30, 2012 Nice job RW !!! Sounds like a great day !! What more could you ask for after a day of good fishing, than to spend time with friends having a few cold ones too. Quote
unageo09 Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 We caught a few stripe (yellow and white) yesterday and 2 crappie. Fished mostly in the mouth of Spring Creek and in Cypress. We saw several smaller bass swimming the bank but they didnt look like they were much into eating what we were throwing. There was a few bass chasing baitfish in Spring Creek but again got no interest. I'd be a lot happier if the water came up some. Quote
tsparks Posted April 1, 2012 Author Posted April 1, 2012 That sounds like a lot of fun! I would love to get on some stripers! Quote
