BrianSnat Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I've kind of found this out recently myself. I'm newly returned to bass fishing after a long while away and Senkos are new to me. That shows how long it's been. I had a ton better luck T-rigging a senko weightless rather than weighted. I fish my Senkos T-rigged and weightless too. I prefer T rig over whacky because I don't catch as many weeds. I do use a 1/8 oz bullet a weight on the swim Senko sometimes. As far as other T rigged plastics, Rage Space Monkeys and Anacondas, Yamamoto cut tail, Yumdingers, Zooom speed worm and Yamamoto Kreature Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 4, 2012 Super User Posted May 4, 2012 Brush hogs and finesse worms. Quote
ShawnMull103 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 For a T-ring I'll throw Senkos mostly. I used a T-rig with a a ribbon tail the other day and had some great success with that. Color will depend on water clarity mostly but the dark colors like black or dark green have worked in a ton of different situations for me clear and stained. Quote
imhooks Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 This is the perfect thread for me to share my tricks i use on our 5 acre pond. Its relatively shallow in the location these were caught, not surprising considering they have been post-spawn for quite some time. Im taking advantage while I can. I rig up a 1/0 hook with a zoom 4" junebug, or green, or red, weedless rig it, then just use one split shot(or 2) about 6-12"(depending on depth, and technique) work it kind of texas/carolina style. At the current time, im having to let it sit right in front of these hogs for them to bite. Just wiggle it and hang on:) Hopethis helps. this is a 5.5' ultralight rod, 5+ pound fish, 20" Was a hell of a fight! Ive had quite a few breaks, but I just love my ultralight. Its great when the crappie are biting. A couple others. same fish I estimate 3+pounds onthis one Quote
NMarotta28 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Yamamato 5' senko's if you have the extra money they are rather pricey ... throw it into heavy cover give it a few twitches then let it drop etc. repeat process goodluck ! Quote
