filthyFLJer Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 So my bday was this month and as usual I got gander, basspro gift cards and tackle lol. My dad got me a popper plug, he talks about them all the time.. "back when I fished tournaments.. rable rable rable" I've never used one before so I've been playing around with it... This thing is so much fun! I feel like I'm one of those ppl on the boats during shark week... freaking great white bass attacking the poor little popper lol. The past two days fishing down at my little mile round pond near the house I've caught the biggest bass out of there with this thing. ... now if only I can figure out how to get the hooks out of them without getting hooked myself.. owey. guitarkid Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I know what you mean by the shark week thing, I have had bass hit them and jump about 8 inches out of the water, but big bass just slurp them down. by the way, caught my first 20+" bass on a rebel pop-r. -gk Quote
Super User Marty Posted March 29, 2012 Super User Posted March 29, 2012 Cabela's has an inexpensive lip grip which is great for holding fish with treble hooks in it. http://www.cabelas.c...ch-All+Products Quote
POPRG Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 That's a great inexpensive landing tool that Marty posted. nothing like a bass on topwater, thrashing like mad when your going to try and lip it! Now,add in nightime and the hook-in-hand chances go up! Quote

Thanks for the suggestions Why not just get a Berkley digital lip grip, use the grip to hold and weigh the fish at the same time plus they are much easier on the fish. Quote
