kjud29 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I know micro guide rods are able to cast farther, but does it limit the type of fishing you can do with it? I don't know anything about the micro guides so some info would help thanks Quote
nvhsaccel Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Doesn't really limit what rigs you can use, the main thing is increased sensitivity, and casting distance. On the other hand, they aren't nearly as strong if stepped on because they bend more easily. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted March 27, 2012 Super User Posted March 27, 2012 Well one negative is frog fishing this stuff with braid the line picks-up fibers and the tip guide gets plugged every now and then. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 As long as you can pass your leader and connecting knots, a rod with "micro" guides can used for anywhere you'ld use the rod otherwise. Ice up and filimentous algae are other situations where they may not be ideal. As for durability, if you regularly step on your rods it probably doesn't matter what guides you use.lol The best guide choice for any rod is the smallest, lightest one that will do the job. 1 Quote
