Well then, it sounds like the problem rests with me. I guess I'll burn through the rest of the Yo Zuri that I have, and maybe, just maybe I will figure out the error of my ways before I exhaust the remaining line. If I don't, then so be it; I'l buy some high dollar Fireline to make the memory go away(literally and figuratively).

Thanks for everyone's .02.

I thought I was ready to move on, but not just yet. For some reason Yo Zuri was put on this earth to test me.

This morning I hit the local pond and threw a Scum frog tied directly to my line. After a few missed hook sets, I got to watch a four pounder stalk the motionless frog as I had reeled it to within ten feet of shore. She set up beneath and a bit behing the frog and as I gave it a slight twitch, she hammered it. Determined not to miss the hook set I let her run with it before I burried the hook. After a short fight, I had lifted her out of the water and grabbed the 6lb Ultra Soft about 18 inches from her mouth. As I reached with my other hand to lip her, the line snapped. She landed at the waters edge and flopped away with my frog and about six inches of the Yo Zuri line.

I'm done.

I too bought Yo Zuri Hybrid because of what I read on the forum. I thought the line sucked big time. My line was spooled on a casting reel and the line developed so much memory that I respooled with P-Line and never looked back.

Don't be so hard on yourself over it. This is why there's many brands to choose from. I personally didn't like yo zuri in 12#. I have found a great copoly in Izorline. Works good for me, but I'm sure others will dislike it. To each his own...

I'm not defending the line here. As I said before, I'm not a fan of the stuff. But this sounds like user error to me. I don't think I'd fish a frog on 6 lb line, and I certainly wouldn't try to lift a four pound fish with it.

Seriously???...for one thing lifting a fish over 4lbs with anything but your hand is a nono for a few reasons. That 4lbr can make 10+lbs of force when it flops. It can break ur line, rod, or hurt the fish itself. The fact that you're blaming 6lb line for that smooth move is preposterous.

What they said...I wouldn't even think of trying that with braid. If you did pull her out you should have swung her towards shore. The pause could have allowed a 2 pounder to snap your 6# line.

Poor fella... user error or not it's time to move on to a different line... maybe CXX.

As far as yo-zuri goes I use it on all but two rods. One has braid the other mono, but the other 7 have yo-zuri hybrid, I've never lost a fish due to line issues. On spinning I use the 6lb regular hybrid no problems, in fact my daughter's and son's rod have it, and they aren't nesting their spinning reels. Baitcasters all get 12lb hybrid, I've pulled in four pounders and what felt like 20lbs of salad, I've kept fish from running into the cattails, thought for sure my PB was going to get off the line when she made it to the edge, I pushed the drag all the way and horsed her out, the buzzbait was mangled beyond repair, the line was fine. I know that if I do not moisten the line when tightening the knot it will weaken, it has floro in it. Other than that never a problem. One other thing is since it is a crystal based line like all floro is, if you get a serious backlash and kink the line, replace it. Kink any floro or floro-copolymer line and it is very stressed at the kink, gotta replace it or it will break. Its for this reason I recommend that noobs use mono until their thumb is educated in the ways of the baitcaster, mono doesn't kink as bad during a serious overrun. Tight lines and good luck.

Just my opinion, but I dont think you can find a better all around line for the money. Just dependable plain and simple Theres lines that handle better, but don't have the abrasion resistance. There are lines that may have better abrasion resistance (and I havent really noticed any that do) but handle worse. It don't stretch that much. Sensitive enough for bottom contact work. It's strong and it's cheap. I love to try new lines, but I always keep a few BC's spooled with Hybrid. If you have issues with memory, I've found it responds great to line a lure the night before an outing.

I owe my PB to it. I was using #12 when I hooked into a monster Jig fish last March. The fish found a horizontal tree in open water that I had no clue was there and wrapped around it. I listened to the line saw into that tree for 45-60 seconds directly under the boat. I've never heard that sound in my life, lol. Sounded like you grabbed the wires on a piano and streched as hard as you could right up until they break. The line held and the fish reversed its course thank God.

Quienyo- Didnt mean to come across too harsh above man, i realize it may have read that way.

I could split hairs here and say that I never overtly blamed the line and that I was simply making an observation that the line broke. But those that got after me were on target,I was blaming the line.

I'm still a pretty inexperienced fisherman and after reading many of the comments, I obviously had been spoiled by the 50# braid on my 51e. So now I can look at some nets or change my approach in how I lip a bass.

I thank you guys that commented for setting me straight. This is how I learn, from experience, good and bad. Now I can't wait to tie scum frogs to my reels with braid. .

I'm still going to try and burn through this stuff. Again, hopefully I learn to love it because it will save me some money since I still have two spools.

I have Yozuri Ultra Soft on one of my baitcasters, it is smoother and more castable than the floro I use on almost all my other baitcasters, but IMO it is not as sensitive as floro for bottom contact applications. Might be good stuff for cranking and SB's, haven't tried it yet for those applications.
