marinetech Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Ice is out early this year in maine coupled with a week of over 70 degree days. Stinkus and I hit Pleasant Pond on saturday morning with temps in the upper 30'S and the fishing was great , I caught 22 LM and Stinkus 8 which is way ahead out last year we could not get out til easter. We met Troy Garrison who is a Maine pro and is fishing the FLW tour this year , what a beautiful boat ! We talked to him for a good half hour out on the water and he was extremely pleasant and answered alot of questions. Took some pics of him to send to my son who is in Afghanistan and missing his favorite hobby which is bass fishing. He will miss the whole season this year while defending our rights. 1 Quote
Clint C. Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Sounds like a great day! Tell your son thank you! Quote
MaineBassMan Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Glad to see that you got out Marinetech! I've been out three times now and haven't been skunked yet! I have a post in the smallmouth section "I think I got the cob webbs out" One of my favorite smallmouth lake is on fire right now. I'm averaging 3-4 pounds there. I just fished my favorite largemouth lake on Saturday. Caught three but the water was pretty cold. The only thing I don't like this year is the spring water levels. The lack of a snow melt run off has the water much lower than previous years. I always do my best in the spring when the water is flooding into the heaths. Keep hooking them! And thank your son for his service! Is he Army or Marines? Quote

It was great to get out and try out all the new gear , new trailer and boat mods Stinkus and I did over the winter which was alot. I wish the lakes down here flooded into the brush the way it does up your way , my favorite type of fishing. We going to try and do a get together this year for the mainers ? Sure would be fun if we could pull it off. Quote
