Just got my 1st baitcasting set...Fenwick MH 6'10'' and JM Signature (6.4) reel.

Before I bought that reel I read some v.good reviews about JM....but now I've noticed that a lot people complains that the JM is not durable....getting problems after short time of using.

I will start fishing in about 2 months.....now I will practice to not get those birdnests too often...anyway....should I return/exchange the reel and get a Curado/Revo etc. ....

Any new opinions about BPS Johnny Morris Signature Series?

What is an ''avg lifespan'' of baitcasting reel ? ( LOL - what kind of question is that ?)

I have one and I use it hard on one of my cranking rods. I had a squeaky bearing after the second season. I sent it to Mike at DVT and got it super tuned and it is one of the longest casting, best reels I own now. It's a great reel. I'd recommend keeping it.

it was alright for a while, then it felt like i opened the side up and put sand in it, idk i took it back, got another one and it sit for a while, i got to thinking 160 is alotta bones for a bps reel, i could of put some more with in and go a revo, anyway i just took it back got a PQ and had cash to boot, my friend has got 2,one has been good soo far, just fishing when it is warm, no hardcore yet, the second one he bought somthing messed up on the handle and it wants to go backwards, think thats what he said.. and at end of th day do what ya want, they are descent out of the box, but if ya look at the score board PQ is hands down... you may love yours or get an upgrade on it, for it to be better
