endless Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 There is a few members here who love em. I have 7'6 H-F I use for frogging. Mine hasn't really been put to a test but I did lose a monster yesterday on it. Only problem I have with them is that the handles should have been wider. It cramps my hand up and I know there is somewhere mentioned here in the forums of how you can fix it. I know I read rescue tap worked. Captain Shane who is a member loves his Here is a thread on opinions by other members as well http://www.bassresou..._1#entry1082484 Here is also the topic I started a wild back when I bought mine Quote
buzzfrog Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 hey thanks, i really appreciate it man Quote
endless Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 No problem! I tried to search for other opinions and just pulled up those 2 for now. If still unsure I would continue to search the forums. Quote
Shane Procell Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I love my Carrot Stix! Over the past 4 years I have accumulated about 10 of them. Five were the origional carrot Stix (Two of them have the micro eyes/love them). The last five I got are the PG's. I have another five baitcast on the way. I like the split grips and the sensativity. The hardware is fine. I usually remove the bait keeper. My rods take a beating. I have broken two of the origionals. One was while running from an alligator and it had nothing to do with the construction of rod. The other was in a ceiling fan. I just mailed in the model numbers on the handle and they sent me new ones. There is a replacement fee, but it was reasonable. 1 Quote

I may have to do that also at some point Quote
Bigbarge50 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Have one, love it, looking to buy more. Never understood the hatred of em by some on here..... Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 24, 2012 Global Moderator Posted March 24, 2012 I had an e21 for a year before it broke while I was sweeping a 'trap off the bottom. No fish, no snag, no resistance, no reason it should have folded in half like it did. I know lots of guys love them and I really liked mine before it broke. Any rod you buy has the potential to break, anything made in mass is going to have it's duds. If you like it, buy it. My suggestion is if you get it at BPS or somewhere that offers the insurance plan you could get that so if it breaks you can bring it back to the store no questions asked. Quote

I have 4 of them and I fish them hard. Frog rod,T-rig,C-rig,flippin/pitching jigs and I never had a problem! Quote

Well with this reel for sure dont order on-line it will be a crapshoot. I handled 3 to get mine that felt nice others had the rough spot that is widely mentioned about. Plus I made the mistake of ordering a reel(Spinning) from them and swear they sent me one that had been returned/used by another person. The plastic bag was torn plus it had rough spots and the nut that holds the spool on had nicks on it. Quote
buzzfrog Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 yea i heard that some of the gear, (one i am wanting)has a funky whine or grind to it, it seems like they get stock in and boom there gon, must be a solid reel Quote
GOOCHY Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I went out and got one of the Carrot Stix PG 6'6" MH rods at the Gander Mountain sale recently. Yesterday was my first time using it and it worked flawlessly bringing in a 4lb'er and several other dinks. We'll see how it holds up over the long term. One thing I do not like about it is the bait/hook holder placement. It should have been above the reel somewhere. The thing is just designed poorly and yesterday I cut my left hand index finger on it while two-hand casting. This morning I went out into the garage and pulled the thing out with a pair of needle nose pliers. The rod is no worse for wear. Quote
