Nkybassfisherman Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 What color colorado blade do you all seem to like better when the water is muddy? A gold or a silver one? Quote
backwater4 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Single blade +1 on gold. Double blade go with 1 of each, but make gold the bigger top blade. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 24, 2012 Super User Posted March 24, 2012 Silver when clear Gold when murky X2 !!! Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted March 25, 2012 Super User Posted March 25, 2012 On my single Colorado "Thumpers", I've had the most success with a copper blade in stained to downright muddy water. Gold would be choice #2. Really, in muddy water I don't think blade color makes any difference at all, but, like I said I 've had the most success with copper. Quote

Super User bigbill Posted March 25, 2012 Super User Posted March 25, 2012 Using the mepps anglia inlines taught me this many moons ago. silver for clear gold for slightly stained and up I use a #3 mepps and when the bite slows down during the day i will upsize to a #4 or #5 and get the larger fish hooked up. When the inline thats silver/black tail is working as the bite slows down in the evenings as it gets darker i switch to a brighter lure color in the same lure. I find that as the light changes the fish can't see our lures. Using a XD3 mepps in silver/white or a joes fly in frietiger apache will land a few more fish. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 25, 2012 Super User Posted March 25, 2012 X3 X4 and to add to the fine tuning use gold/brass when cloudy & silver under bright sun. 1 Quote
