Single blade +1 on gold.

Double blade go with 1 of each, but make gold the bigger top blade.

On my single Colorado "Thumpers", I've had the most success with a copper blade in stained to downright muddy water. Gold would be choice #2. Really, in muddy water I don't think blade color makes any difference at all, but, like I said I 've had the most success with copper.

Using the mepps anglia inlines taught me this many moons ago.

silver for clear

gold for slightly stained and up I use a #3 mepps and when the bite slows down during the day i will upsize to a #4 or #5 and get the larger fish hooked up.

When the inline thats silver/black tail is working as the bite slows down in the evenings as it gets darker i switch to a brighter lure color in the same lure. I find that as the light changes the fish can't see our lures. Using a XD3 mepps in silver/white or a joes fly in frietiger apache will land a few more fish.
