Guy next to us was selling Porta Botes. So this guy reads the paper -every 15 minutes or so he looks at his watch-gets up- grabs a hammer and proceeds to whack the hull of the boat three times- This causes commotion and people walk over and he gives his speal. So this goes on for two days like clock work --- we are working the crowd demonstrating product. Here we go again- He gets up grabs the hammer while i am demonsrtating product and i hear whack whack bam. He puts the hammer right through the hull of the boat-we all burst out laughing- I said thats a great hammer -i'll take one-- So needless to say we were putting up signs on that boat-" NOW COMES WITH LIFE JACKETS" Next we got a small soda cup--"also includes bail out can"--. The guy actually had a good sense of humor -he allowed us to hammer him at will.

So that breaks up the monotiny of the shows Good stuff like that

Yeah, because having to worry about one folding up while I'm in it isn't bad enough, now you have to worry about punching a hole in it too!

That's very funny. Reminds me of something I saw several years ago.

It happened at the Mass Lobstermen's Assoc. annual meeting at a Cape Cod hotel. A large room at their convention center had many vendors from trap manufacturers, rope companies, engine manufacturers like Caterpillar, Deere, etc. One fellow was hawking plastic radar reflectors. He was slamming one on the concrete floor every time someone walked by. Eventually, the thing struck at a critical point, and it shattered like an egg shell.

Nothing like seeing an advertising blooper up close and personal.
