bugman Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I have waited to the first week of April in past years to take my first trip to PIB. With this years above average temps I was woundering if the Bass bite is early this year. Please let me know how you did if you fished the bay already. What is the water temp? ect..... Quote
Zeeebassman 1 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Last weekend boated 4 LM best was almost 2lbs.. Found water in the low 50's thats where all the action was. Smallies are gettin active too. Quote
flyhatch Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 We couldn't make anything happen on the main lake today, so we went in to the bay. Boated 11 Green and 3 Brown between both of us. tubes and jerks and spinnerbaits for green shiney friends for brown Browns were in the two to three range. a couple of greens were close to three. I landed like a 10 pound drum that I thought was a record smallie when I first saw it. it was cold out there today. 10 4 over and out Quote
bassnleo Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 bugman, as you see above, they're biting. This past weekend was a little "off" because of the front and cool down, but get on over there! I caught LM on March 12th........... Quote
Zeeebassman 1 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Was out on 3/27 for bout 3 hrs.Landed 6 LM to about 3-1/2lbs.Only managed 1 Smallie but she went over 4lbs. Tough fishing with the cold front. Jerks and cranks. But it is only March. Water temp dropped from 55 from last Saturday to 48 yesterday. Quote
bugman Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Thanks for the reports. Cold front shut things down here also. Will give the bay a shot soon as the temps go up. Quote
Zeeebassman 1 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I found the fish in PIB yesterday. This is what they looked like "in" the water. Quote
