Super User roadwarrior Posted March 21, 2012 Super User Posted March 21, 2012 As a longtime Bronco's fan, I am extremely disappointed in this decision. T-Bow brought excitement not just to Denver, but throughout the NFL. A man of character and grace, I wish him the very best! Quote
Super User tomustang Posted March 21, 2012 Super User Posted March 21, 2012 I know he's a bad quarterback, but come on! Now he gets to train with and watch a terrible one Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted March 21, 2012 Super User Posted March 21, 2012 My first thought is the Jets got played by Mr. Bill in New England again. He goes and fakes interest in Tebow and the Jets jump into the fray to get him. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted March 21, 2012 Super User Posted March 21, 2012 Not sure how the Jets go from considering rid of Sanchez to keeping Sanchez AND adding Tebow. As a Giants fan, I'm smiling Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 21, 2012 Super User Posted March 21, 2012 Yeah, having Manning as your guy must be a real bummer, LOL. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 21, 2012 Author Super User Posted March 21, 2012 I don't know, this whole deal smells fishy... If Denver is so smart, than how stupid are the guys in Indianapolis? Too stupid to tie their shoes I would say. So, the Colts traded their franchise player, most popular athlete in the history of the city and perhaps the future Governor of the state! Jezz!!!!!!!! You just cannot be that retarded. Or maybe they don't believe he can play anymore... If Peyton does not play, Denver has nothing. Quote
jeremyt Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I know a lot of people are doubting Tebows ability as a traditional QB, but there is no denying what he was able to accomplish last year with his teammates. This transaction just really showed me how low Denver really thought of him, a 4th Round pick. I'm not sure that Manning has 2 years left in him much less 5. I hope he has a sub par performance this year as I am a Chargers fan. Quote
preach4bass Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 ESPN is reporting that there might be a snag in the wording of the contract that would void this deal. This has been one dramatic day in the NFL! Quote

Super User Root beer Posted March 22, 2012 Super User Posted March 22, 2012 Here my questions, why didn't Denver keep Tebow? Manning didn't wanna teach Tebow? Quote
craww Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Hard to understand denver's logic. When the guy took over last year they were in LAST place. He was for all intensive purposes still a rookie at the time. He took them to the playoffs and won a game. How do you throw that away? You then sign a soon to be 36 year old neck injury waiting to happen to a long term-cap crushing deal??? Quote
VolFan Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 This was the only way Elway was getting out from under the Tebow albatross without angering many, many Denver fans. Even if Manning doesn't play a down, Elway has set the Broncos up for a more traditional build. I still think Tebow's going to have a huge impact with a team, but I don't know that the Jets is going to be a big fit unless they dump the Sanchise. Rex Ryan is just crazy/dumb enough to go for a smashmouth offense led by the Tebow. Quote
riskkid 2 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 T-Bow brought excitement not just to Denver, but throughout the NFL. A man of character and grace, I wish him the very best! Well said, I agree and hope he does well. But it's a business and Big John wanted a traditional QB and he got the best. He better hope the Doc's are right and Peyton gives them a few good (great) years. At least Tim will still make a boatload of money. On a funny side note, when Manning and Elway stand side by side there are a couple of huge old horseheads there....those fellas have some big old noggins! 1 Quote
Packard Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Here my questions, why didn't Denver keep Tebow? Manning didn't wanna teach Tebow? Manning refuses to teach any backup QB. When he was at Indy he wouldn't even let the backup take one snap with the 1st string. He was told that Luck would get 50% of the snaps in practice and Manning wanted no part of it. Quote

I have always wondered what kind of mentor Peyton has been. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I must have missed somthing when i watched those games- guy was garbage and if I was a Denver fan I would be happy with this move. When you look at denvers current roster especially the D they need to try and win a super bowl in the next 2-3 years. Not wait 9 years untill Tebow learns how to throw. There was a lot of luck in the games he won, and a lot of misshaps. I should know, I saw him do it to the Bears (sans Cutler however). Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 23, 2012 Super User Posted March 23, 2012 The Giants were lucky to beat the Pats in the '08 Superbowl.. The Giants were lucky to beat the Pats in the regular season last year. The Giants were lucky to beat the Pats in this year's Superbowl. Manning and the Giants were lucky to be three and one in their last four games against the Pats. They had to be lucky. Everyone knows the Pats were the better team everywhere but where it counted, on the scoreboard. What was Denver's record when Tebow took over last year? 1 Quote
Quillback Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 The Jets are like the Cowboys - a circus. Glad to see them add another act (Tebow) to the show. Tebow won't make them any better, but will provide plenty of media fodder and give the sports talkshow guys something to talk about. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted March 25, 2012 Super User Posted March 25, 2012 Didn't know the Jets needed a TE....J E T S. suck suck suck Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted March 25, 2012 Super User Posted March 25, 2012 As a qb, Tebow sucks. As a team, the jets suck. Seems like a good fit. I read the jets have asked Tebow to not live in Manhattan because of the temptations, are they for real? Their coach sucks toes, one of their db's has 9 kids by 8 women, and their worried about Tebow? Jets suck. 1 Quote

Anyway, the Tebow hype will fade into oblivion as a he sits the bench. He'll get traded after a season or two to some other desperate team where he'll end up being a wildcat qb or a fullback. I think Indy made a good decision. They have to look forward and Peyton only has a few more good years left at best. Its anybody's guess how Peyton/Denver works out. If he's still the QB he was before the injuries, they'll be a force. Even if he's 50-75%, he'll still be more productive than Tebow. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted March 26, 2012 Super User Posted March 26, 2012 Sour Grapes? Giants own the Pats, its not just luck. LOL. I was merely replying to someone who called Tebow lucky. Did you miss my closing sentence? I was a Giants fan before there was a Boston Patriot football team. However, I lost interest when the NFL players went out on strike. I did get to see the Giants finally win it all after years of frustration back in the 50s and 60s when they lost to Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts, Bart Starr and the Green Bay Packers, and the Chicago Bears. After that they declined to the depths of futility for a couple of decades. Anyway, this was how I closed my post. The lucky comments were facetious. Everyone knows the Pats were the better team everywhere but where it counted, on the scoreboard. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 26, 2012 Author Super User Posted March 26, 2012 So silly... There are 32 teams in the NFL and only about 25 QBs that belong in the NFL. T-Bow is one of a few that took his team to the play-offs and won a game. How did all those other guys do? Quote
