NCbassmaster4Life Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 This is probably going to turn out into an article so sorry, but today around evening my buddy calls me up and says he's fishing a pond that's by his old house (neighborhood pond/golf course pond) anyways my buddy tells me he's with my brother and that he can see the bass on the beds, two over 5lbs. I get a picture about an hour later with my brother holding up a beauty. My brother and I have been fishing for quite awhile, I would take him bass fishing when he was a young buck around the age of 12, very unpatient at his age. I used to cast out for him and try to show him how to fish...lol man it was a headache, as he got older he got more and more into bass fishing and I stressed to him to do research and told him that, "only you can catch the fish, not me." Well with that statement made he began to ask me a lot of questions and try to fish like me, wasn't working for him and had to explain to him about patients and what baits work during certain times of the season. Last year he has been out a lot with my one good buddy and teaches my brother how to use a baitcaster and how to make adjustments accordingly. My brother has done tremendous thus far in a year. Because of my job in the military I cannot teach my brother ah whole lot but just by talking to him over phone and or by e-mail he has done great. I feel great to be able to talk to him about fishing techniques and or a fishing pattern and he understands it now and patients has paid off. He looks up to me and I feel greaat that I am able to share the things I have learned make him a successful fisherman. I have done my job also and it has paid off. Paitients is definitily the key to his success. Thank you bassresource for all the advice and the guys on this forum, you guys help a ton, new or not this is what the community is about and it's a great oppertunity to share with others. Quote
