Placed another order from TW, 3rd time in a couple months. I think the last time i may have told my wife it was the last time for atleast a few months because i got so much. I somehow came up with another reason that i needed more tackle and then convinced myself of it........She told me that if i submit the order i have to sign an agreement that this is the last thing i will need for atleast 6 months or I couldnt place my order LOL. I could easily do it seeing as how i usually buy atleast 2 of everything and 3 of everything when it comes to terminal tackle (hooks, weights etc.). Didnt sign anything of course, or agree to anything.

Maybe some new ear rings will make her feel better....

There are better things to give your wife to put em in a good mood. Least it works with mine anyway.

Fishing agreement nothing. After what I'm putting into my boat to get it ready. I'm gonna have to sign a boat agreement.

My wife and I have an excellent agreement. I do not ask what she spends on clothes, shoes, etc. And she doesn't ask what I spend on fishing tackle. We're both happy about that.

Having separate bank accounts is key to making this work.

My wife tried that agreement thing though when I got my revo last spring it was the only reel and rod I could get for the year till I begged and pleaded when dicks had that huge sale and I picked up that citica for 44.98

yeah I agree that would be nice however, my wife doesn't buy clothes and material things as much as most women do. Plus she pays all the bills from our joint account. That being said, without her telling me enough is enough when it really truly is, I would be a broke man. I have enough for 3 people so I'm not complaining.

It's just hard to explain why the UPS man just dropped off ANOTHER 8' tube or a box that says TW...

Most of the fishermen on this site have a lot of gear, probably there is very little if anything that is a "have to" have or else. A responsible person should know the limits of their budget and spend accordingly. Hopefully the spouse is equally aware of your financial situation and is responsible too. A signed agreement is pure nonsense, mature people know what they need and can afford. For most, fishing is a hobby, recreational activities imo should take last place on the spending chain.

I'm telling you guys.....my policy keeps peace in my home. No overtime, no stuff. A guy I know was in the tackle store last week and was contemplating on buying a new salmon rod and reel. Both were pretty high end products. He asked me how his wife would take it for him to buy, yet another combo ? I told him, " How could you not buy it? You are paying $4.20 a gallon for gas, making a 200.00 a month payment for your North River, paying insurance on the boat, licensing the boat and trailer, equipping the boat, spending money on lunch, buying a fishing license, paying for a smoker and chips, and inviting me to go out on a trip for good healthy Christian fellow ship....That combo was cheap insurance in case his other combo broke and the whole day would be wasted. A measily $320.00 combo to assure a great trip wouldn't be ruined? How could she not admire you for making such a sound buying decision ?" His response......... You're Good Doug, really good.

Make her a set out of an old pair of lipless cranks. Then you can tell her that you're just restocking because Xmas and her B-day are coming up...

I have a joint account with my wife and use it to purchase all of my fishing equipment. She knows I work hard and if I need something I get it. I don't need to hide behind another account!! (just pokin' fun blvd!)

Sorry if i didnt make the nature of this post clear. It was all in fun. I know the difference between wants and needs and what order they fall in as a "responsible" person. So does my wife. Her comment about an agreement was all in fun. Thanks for the words of wisdom though sir, if i didnt have any of my own i might use yours.

Who's talking about hiding? She's fully aware of my account. She just doesn't have access to it. If she wants access to it, then she can pay the mortgage, electric, water, cable, insurance, car, groceries, going out to dinner, gas, HOA, pest control, dog groomer and whatever bill we get.

Remember, the two biggest things that break up relationships are SEX and MONEY. She controls the sex and I control the money. If she wants money then I get sex.

I've been lucky,Haven't had to sign anything yet.....LOL

However I've been told "NO BOAT!,UNTIL i GET MY HOUSE FIRST" by my wife. Wanna hear something funny? I'm getting a kayak next month somehow, because her uncle told my wife he already brought a rack for it and that I have to get one now so we can go fishing. I guess she's gonna have to wait a little longer for that house now.....LMAO.
