citybassboy Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Hi my name is CITYBASSBOY I am a 12 year old bass angler and I've written a product review for BassFishingResource readers and members. Please feel free to comment on the reel, or to leave me feedback on the review itself. If you enjoy it, i will do more reviews in the future. This is the review. I recently purchased the new Shimano 2012 Chronarch reel. First off, I'd like to say that this is a great reel that was worth every penny. This new reel contains a new facelift and some new upgrades. This reel has an aluminum frame and lightweight graphite sideplates. It has 7 bearings and comes equipped with Septon PV Power Grips. The biggest difference for this new reel is that Shimano added 3 gear ratios for both left and right-handed models. The model I purchased is the Chronarch 201E7. It retrieves 30 inches of line per crank, the maximum drag is 11 pounds, it has 1 S A-RB ball bearing, 5 S SUS bearings and it weighs 7.6 ounces. The gear ratio for this model is 7.0:1 and it retrieves left. I really admire this reel for it's look and durability. My hands are not very large but this reel fits comfortably and snugly in my palm and casts very smoothly. This reel costs about 210 dollars. I would really recommend this great new product to anyone whos looking for a high-quality reel. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted March 20, 2012 Super User Posted March 20, 2012 How long have you had it ? What are your dislikes? How many times have you used it? And for what techniques? Have you had any big fish on it to test out the drag? IMO a review needs more insight. What you provided is more of an overview, that anyone can see at any big box website. Quote
VolFan Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Citybasser, nice job on the initial review. Good to hear it fits small hands as I have those myself. post an update after you use it on a trip. Maybe how it handles your favorite way of fishing? Thanks for your input on the boards, and WELCOME ABOARD!!! Quote
