airborne_angler Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Got this bait in a "lot" I purchased at a thrift shop. Its tear shaped and it has a single rattle in it,similar to a one knocker. I added the split ring as a line tie Anyone recognize this bait, who makes it and how old is it? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted March 18, 2012 Super User Posted March 18, 2012 It looks like a Mann's Super George with the tail spinner removed and a treble hook installed. The hook hanger is screwed into the body. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 18, 2012 Super User Posted March 18, 2012 That isn't a rattle bait, it is a Manns Little George Tail spinner that has been modified. These usually have a single hook with a small wire coming out the back that holds a spinner blade. Someone removed the wire and spinnerblade and then added the hook hanger and treble hook to it. The only problem with this is the little george is a drop bait, it doesn't have much action on the retrieve, it is almost all on the fall, it does have a slight wiggle when you lift the rod up but not enough to fish it like a rattle bait. airborne_angler Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Ok so that narrows it down. Further research shows that the bait I have(pictured) is a MANNS BIG GEORGE,and the bait pictured is in its correct configuration(with the exception of the split ring I added) The SUPER GEORGE is ad pictured in the response, with the spinner on the rear. So this new found info makes me believe that because this bait is in its correct configuration,it may actually be a one knocker rattle bait. Quote
