I just bought a 798SI and a 998SI, due to outside storage they can't stay on the boat.

What do you guys use to carry/protect them when not on a boat?

Thanks

Thanks Wayne, You might see it a couple of other places before the nights out.

Yes, I posted it over there too.

Walmart sells a pistol case for under ten bucks. It has egg crate foam inside that you can cut the outline of your head unit into. Works great for me. I'll try to post some pics but I gotta figure out this new mobile version first.

if you are just trying to protect the screen, I use an orbital buffing bonnet turned inside out. The elastic makes for a snug fit. I pack mine around in a old soft sided cooler

Harbor Freight sells an aluminum tool case that has a foam insert that can be cut out to fit your unit. Works great for my HDS8.

The Lowrance head units come with a hard plastic cover to protect the screen. When I take them off my boat, which is EVERY night, I simply place them in a small canvass bag, face-on, and throw a towel in between. It's not like I'm carrying the Crown Jewels.

Pretty close to the price of the crown jewels....
