Porta Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Rrying to find a decent family affordable reel. Like to spend around $50-$100. I need something to get me started to make sure I like UL before I spend $$ on better gear. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 18, 2012 Global Moderator Posted March 18, 2012 I'd get a Shimano in a 500 or 750 size. If it were me I'd go with a Sedona 750. I've got a couple of them and they are great little reels and don't break the bank. Quote
coak Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I'm assuming you're talking about spinning gear. I have 2 abu garcia cardinal 101s and a shimano cx 1000. The abu's can be had anywhere for about $30-40 all day long and cast smoothly for the price and have held up for years with maintenance and care. The shimano has a rear drag, which I really like since I fish mostly in rivers and streams, and hate trying to adjust the drag on the spool when fighting a fish. Quote
