Since I took up fishing the beginning of this year I have been on a couple other forums besides this one. They were filled with many arrogant and obnoxious people. Caught flak from a lot of new fisherman questions I posted. This website seems to have more mature and friendly people. Very informative as well. Took my wife and our five-year-old daughter out on the water yesterday for the first time. The weather was perfect and we had a blast. Thank you again for all of your encouragement as I learn the sport. Being a med student gives me a very busy schedule and fishing is a great way for me to relax. Joe

Good to hear. I too am in Paramedics and yes it does help to enjoy fishing while going over things that I need to know in my head. For some reason it always helps me to relax my mind and soak up life.

Welcome aboard! There are a lot of good folks around here that are willing to help. Be sure to visit the Fishing Articles section. There is a world of information there. I've been a member here for years and I still haven't read them all.

My son graduates from medical school in a couple of months. His current rotation has taken him to Kodiak Island

for six weeks. Work, work, work...

Congrats on med school! Fishing is alot like taking a history from a patient " If you listen to the patient long enough, they will tell you the diagnosis" When you fish "listen" to the fish and trust your instincts to make changes with the conditions and you will catch them. And as the father of two little girls, it is great to hear that you are getting your daughter out on the water. This is the best site out there!

Awesome! Yeah med school is tough, but I want to be a doctor soon. Fishing is s great stress reliever and is tons of fun. :-)

Hey Doc, I have been having this sharp pain in my %^$%& lately and I can't seem to fix it with home remedies. Do you have anything to cure baitmonkey-itis??? :) :)

I dont think there's any cure for the bait monkey besides just staying in bed an if your like me you can't do that
