Alabama Rig Rod Recommendations

What is the best rod for the Alabama rig? I don't want to pay $200 for a new rod, but I would like to get some opinions on here.

i bought a Duckett 7'6 extra heavy and i think its perfect for the A RIG.

Yeah, just looked at that on at academy. I wanted one a little longer. Although that one seemed like a good fit.

Got a Powell A-rig rod on the way. It's a great rod, my friend is a powell prostaffer so he let me use it for a while. It makes a good flippin' stick in a pinch too, it has a pretty soft tip.

I would look into some swimbait rods if your looking for length. I'm yet to fish an A-rig for any real ammount of time, but I would assume youd want med fast action or even a medium. Either way, alot of SB rods in the $200 range

A swimbait rod will make all day casting easier. For once in a while use a flippin' stick will do in a pinch.

I use a 7'6" Ugly Stick inshore rod. It's a rod primarily used for stripers, but it seems to be a good fit. The A-rig has yet to catch a fish for me, though.
