Vintage rogues look like the new ones, that is the beauty of the lure, they really haven't changed much except for a few more models and some different colors. If you want to see them look at the floating model, shallow diving rogues. These end up being found by familys who have a loved one pass away that fished and has a few or they ened up left in a home that was sold and get sold at yard sales, if you're looking for one it is probably because you heard some hype about someone using one to win a tournament or something. My advise is get a new one, it will work as most anglers throw expensive Japenese style hard jerkbaits most of the time so the fish don't see the rogues too often. Rogues are my favorite minnow style bait has they have a different, almost unique action to them. While they have a side to side movement like all the others do, the rogues have a roll also and that roll makes the bait have a distinctive flash as well as a sound.

No way to tell brother. But I bet there are some pros bidding on that wiggle wart at the bottom of the third page you have listed. $26.00, makes me wish I would have kept mine.

The second one has been painted over. They covered up some of the distinctive eyes on the lure. Without an original box, the best way to tell the age of a rogue is by the hardware. Older ones have too small trebles on them and light wire split rings, the newr ones are better, but still sub-par. This guy: http://www.smithwickcollector.com/ has a nice collection that may help.

The 2nd one was originally my favorite color which happens to be clown, none of these are vintage, as I said, there is very little difference so unless you are collecting, you may as well get a new one. If you here that someone won a tournament on a vintage rogue, it is probably an old rogue they had and never bought a new one so they decided to use it and it caught fish, the one Van Dam used was a discontinued model but you could get new onews that were the same, just not the same color.

I've got one really old rogue that was a Kevin Van Dam signature series when he first started fishing professionally and he was sponsered by Smithwick instead of Strike King. That's the only way I can tell it's vintage though.
