BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 15, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 15, 2012 After 244 years, Encyclopedia Britannica will stop production of its, well, encyclopedias. They usually print a new set every two years, but 2010's 32-volume set will be its last. It finally occurred to them that people don't really use books for information anymore when they can just Google, Bing or Wikipedia anything they want to know. Actually, you don't really need a book for ANYTHING anymore, thanks to e-books, Kendles and Nooks. You don't even need to go to the store to buy a Kendle or a nook when you can just order them through Amazon or eBay. And it's not like you need a home computer to order things online because any smartphone has Internet access, and you don't even need the keyboard on your phone because you can just ask it to do whatever you need to do FOR you. This brings us to today's question: WHAT DO YOU HOLD ONTO THAT YOU KNOW IS OBSOLETE? Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted March 15, 2012 Super User Posted March 15, 2012 An old quantium probe baitcaster. Right now it's on a trigger ice fishing pole and my son parades it around. I also still have a N64 with golden eye ad star fox best games made for the 64. Along with a nintendo and contra. That's all I can really think of I sold my camaro with 383 years ago when gas sky rocketed and tickets got to much to handle to it was fun but obsolete in today's world unless u have a fat checkbook. Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 15, 2012 Super User Posted March 15, 2012 Rubber worms. Who needs rubber worms when there are Senkos? HAHAHA j/k My wife thinks our kitchen is obsolete since she hasn't cooked in 9 years of our marriage. To some people, cash is obsolete. I know plenty of peeps who never have more than 5 or 10 bucks cash on them. They always use bank carsds. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted March 15, 2012 Super User Posted March 15, 2012 There is something about books that I will never give up. The smell of a leather bound book is just..awesome. 1 Quote
