St Croix Mojo Bass Trigger Rods

Thinking about getting the swim bait rod. Any guys out there have this rod or another action in the trigger line? Opinions?

I have the Topwater and really like it. A lot of people complain about these rods being tip heavy. I just throw it and don't worry. I think ot's a good rod.

If this is your price range, look at he Abu Garcia Veritas. I think they are better for the same price.

But, I wouldn't trade my Mojo.

I may not be the best source of information on this subject. I had the mojo series crankbait rod, it was a complete dud and dead stick. I hated it, was taking it back when in a fit of frustration I closed the hatch on the handle, so in the end I was out 100 bucks. lol. St. Croix has such a good reputation I would like to think that my experience was just a fluke, but my BPS Crankin Sticks were ten time the rod that one was.

Ive got an early made Mojo, before they were made in Mexico. The rear grip, what there is of it, is too small for a comfortable grip and I have small hands. Like all St. Croixs their MH is everyone elses Hvy. I can only imagine what the swimbait rod would be like. I'd go after tarpon with less rod. It is very well constructed though.

I have the 7'MHF spinnerbait rod, and I love it. Rarely if if ever use it for spinnerbaits though, 90% of the time it has either a texas rig, jig, or frog tied on. As far as being tip heavy, I find it balances pretty well with a reel in the 8oz range, but it did feel a bit awkward when I tried my Carbonlite (the old gold one) on it.

I own 3..topwater, crankbait and slop n frog. Yes they are all tip heavy, but I love them. So far very durable and tough to beat at the 100 dollar price point. I did however pick up a veritas this winter and I think I will be getting a few more. I am sure you will love the swimbait rod, go to the store and put your reel on it and see how she balances and if it feels right go for it. They are solid rods for the $

I have the 6'6" MHF and like Phranchise1213 said they are tip heavy, but they are also very durable. Not top of the line, but definitely well made for the price.

i have the pitchin stick its was also tip heavy but a little weight on the butt end and its good to go i plan on getting a few more in the near future

I have the 7'11 H/MF "Flipping" rod. I have no issued with it. I actually like it better than the telescopic 7'6" MH/MF Legend tournament I had. Both were/are tip heavy, but the Mojo balances nicely with the reel I use for flipping, the LT did not. I hope to add the 7'6" Mojo version of that LT some day, my buddy has one and even that floats and feels better in my hand than that LT.

Checked this rod out today at bass pro. Seems tip heavy as most of you guys indicated. Not sure about that one.

Going to check out the duckett 7'11 eh rod, the pinnacle 7'11 flipping rod, and the Powell umbrella rig rod.

I have 2 of these, both are 7' MH rods, one is fast and one is moderate and I have no coplaints with either of them.
