Super User ww2farmer Posted March 14, 2012 Super User Posted March 14, 2012 i was there sat and sun and they didnt have very many awesome sales. my club was running the trout pond they had for the kids I think I may have been to two of there classics since that store opened, once I made a special trip for, the other time to pick up my boat when I bought it, nothing to write home about then either. IDK if it's an individual store thing, or not. I love the BPS in Orlando LOL. Quote
Kevinator1 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Too much! $387.80. And another $168 from ***. Now time to use the stuff. Quote
Missouribassman95 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 About 40 bucks. But I went right after Christmas with all my gift cards and money and spent 256$. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted March 14, 2012 Author Super User Posted March 14, 2012 Heck No.....she only knows of one trip.....all purchases in cash and nicely stowed away with the rest of my stuff and now undetectable.... I have a slush fund too! I just wait untill she is sleeping and then I restock! LOL Quote
CKFishin Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 200ish Major thing was a new 6'8" MH XF Crucial to check out the new Shimano line... Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted March 14, 2012 Super User Posted March 14, 2012 So did you purchase anything from BPS with all those benefits you reaped? Yeah, I spent a little over $2000 on plastics, Trokar and stuff that I can't get under other agreements. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 14, 2012 Super User Posted March 14, 2012 I was pretty good: $20 of my own dough, and $25 from a gift card. I wasn't too impressed with this year's sales, and I was very disappointed with the vendors. Quote
jeb2 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Not much. About $100. I went there all ready to buy another high end reel and/or rod. But the Springfield store had zero Calais DC, Steez's, MGX's, etc. Also had zero NRX or Steez rods. Very disappointing. I was already well stocked on lures, so just bought a few of the things they had on special. Some decent seminars by DeFoe and Evers, so the trip was still worthwhile. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I'm keeping it secret!! Suffice it to say I live near a BPS and made several trips... LOL and I live near a BPS and Cabelas and made 2 trips to BPS during the classic and the wife never asked how much I spent at BPS, but each time I go to Cabelas she wants to go cause she likes the store and I can't make a trip without her to Cabelas. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted March 14, 2012 Super User Posted March 14, 2012 Zero, didn't go. Wasn't worth 80 mile round trip for me, I didn't need anything that I can't buy around here for the same price. Quote
Stasher1 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 $0 I've been building up my home gym for the past couple months, so that's where all of my extra money has been going. Heck, I even sold a couple rods, a few reels, and a couple guns to fund my new "project". I did hit Walmart this morning for a couple packs of Strike King tungsten worm weights, though. Quote
Diablos Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Just some 4stroke oil, lower unit oil, filter and some lures to the tune of $124 Quote
royal0014 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 $0.00 Did not see anything in the salepaper worth the 100+ mile trip. Haven't had time to fish anyway. Still haven't gotten around to putting in a order at Northstar, either. Work sucks...... Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted March 20, 2012 Super User Posted March 20, 2012 Yeah, I spent a little over $2000 on plastics, Trokar and stuff that I can't get under other agreements. That's a lot of plastics and hooks! I left down about $2400 but a huge chunk of that was a Merc 9.9 kicker for trolling. Quote
WookieeJedi Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Zero. I have been racking up Cabela's points with their credit card. When I get enough points, I just order from them. Even qualified for a black card the first year, but I use that thing for everything. BTW, they have their own bank issue the card, so if you have some hate for BoA, that's a good option. I still like BPS, but only buy from them when I am nearby already and have run out of speedcraws. Even then, I pay using my Cabela's card. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted March 20, 2012 Super User Posted March 20, 2012 That's a lot of plastics and hooks! I left down about $2400 but a huge chunk of that was a Merc 9.9 kicker for trolling. Oh there was a lot of other stuff in there, too. The majority was just that, though. Plastics and hooks. Probably around $1400 worth- I buy as much of my annual stock as I can at once, keep track of my inventory, and fill when necessary. Quote
GOOCHY Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 That's cute. No really. It is. Rather than blame what we should, the people that don't know how to manage their money, we blame business. Lay blame where blame lies, man. If people are too stupid not to spend money they don't have they deserve it. Meanwhile, I'll continue to ride one of the best years I've had for investments in companies like BOA and reap the benefits of all they offer. It's not greed, man. Welcome to capitalism. Absolutely. Blame people who have little financial means and political capital vs. the organizations who have created dark derivatives markets that are 100% unregulated, and sold known faulty bundles of mortgages to pension funds, etc. and then bet against them. Makes sense. 1 Quote
piscicidal Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I got two Chronarchs and two St Croix Avids. Total about $500, I guess. Really nice deals on the Chronarchs after the Shimano and BPS bonus bucks rebates. I went in with an arm full of old rods, intent on going hawg wild with the rod trade in. But I showed some restraint. The bait monkey was not pleased. Quote
jkarol24 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 $150 on a 3 bank charger. Walked directly to the charger and walked directly to check out. I have to put on blinders in there or else i WILL go broke... Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 21, 2012 Super User Posted March 21, 2012 I have to put on blinders in there or else i WILL go broke... I hear you there! Cashier: "That'll be twelve-hundred-forty-three dollars and sixty-seven cents." Me: "What the... I only came in here for an $800 trolling motor!" 1 Quote
outdoorsman110 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 90$, I purchased an Ugly Stick Lite 7'0" 12-18lb medium action spinning rod as a back up for 40$, about 10 bomber cranks, 5 spinnerbaits, new line packs anddd that's it. Quote
canyouheminow Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 i spent around 454. two shimano sellus rods, a quantam kvd reel, a clamp on fish finder, and a bunch of the bps crankbaits that were on sale Quote
tholmes Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 $0.00, because the nearest BPS is three hours away, and I really don't need any tackle that I can't get locally Tom Quote
KansasBassin Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Around 400?...quantum burner, mojo, lots of bps line, lots of titanium weights, xps tackle bag, and another couple 100 at cabelas today on boat stuff, new seat bases and posts. Starting to be a $$$ season and I haven't wet a line yet! Quote
