Mikekw3 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 This past fall I had extreme success using the Strike King shadlicious swimbait, I was using it on my frog rod but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to a good baitcasting rod length and action for using these swimbaits with a weighted hook..thank you Quote

Super User Chris at Tech Posted March 13, 2012 Super User Posted March 13, 2012 Depends on how big a Shadalicious you're throwing. I think a standard 7' MH/F rod would be fine for the 4.5", but you would likely want to step up to a 7' H/F for the 5.5" and 6.5" Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 13, 2012 Super User Posted March 13, 2012 I use the same rod that I use for swim jigs, and spinnerbaits, a 7' MH/fast. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted March 13, 2012 Super User Posted March 13, 2012 I toss those on my standard BPS MH 6'6" baitcasting rod. Nothing fancy, but she'll do to ride the river. Quote
zell_pop1 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I like the 4.5in size and use a 7' MH/F St. Croix Triumph. Quote
Crookedneck Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Yep agree with the above posts. 7' MH/ Fast is what I toss mine with. I think hooks and reel speed affect the action on these more than anything. Quote
