Trickerie Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Hey guys, Looking for a MH/Moderate rod for trebles and am looking for some suggestions in the $100ish range? I've been looking at the Abu Garcia vendetta but I'm not sure Quote
Super User grimlin Posted March 12, 2012 Super User Posted March 12, 2012 Powell diesel glass crankbait rod is $69 @ TW,but you'll have no warranty on it. However the reviews coming in from people seem to be on the high positive side right now. It's a $150 rod,but because there's no warranty on it they are able to price it extremely cheap. I don't know if you want to take the chance, but I'm getting one in the future this year. I was undecided about this no warranty thing, but I don't break rods that often and when I do it's usually my fault. Quote
Trickerie Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 I noticed that one as well, but wasn't sure about the mod-fast taper. Quote
elkriverangler Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 The Vendettas are a pretty nice Rod but the ones I have handled were all very stiff and not very suitable for Trebles. I see that they do make a 7' M and a 7'3 MH that are listed with a Medium or Moderate action, those may be OK but the Fast actions are definitely stiffer than most Rods. Take a look at the Falcon Bucoo's they make several with a Moderate action. I have a 6'6 M Medium Fast that I use for River Smallmouth with Cranks and 1/4 OZ Spinnerbaits and I am very happy with it. Falcon makes the Bucoo in a 7' Medium Moderate and a 7'3 MH Medium Fast. Quote
Packard Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 The BPS Crankin' Stick is a GREAT value. I own a 6'6" M/M Falcon BuCoo and it is a bit overrated and is very noodle like. I have the St Croix Mojo Glass "Big Crankster" and it is a nice rod as well. The Abu garcia Veritas and Vendetta seemed to stiff for cranking to me. The Lamiglas Excel 7' Med-Heavy Glass rod looks like it would fit your needs well. They are known for their great glass blanks and it is priced well at $130. Quote

Trickerie Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 The Lamiglas has a fast tip. Not sure about that Quote
Tony Monticelli Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 The Lamiglas has a fast tip. Not sure about that ok you might be right just looked at it and i don't think it was the same blank on the rod that i though it was etc... and the rod that i though it was is way to much looks awefull and doesnt offer much to choose from at all. there rod line is kinda skimpy there...
