buzzfrog Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 was scooping out the new walmart, geez it is like a mini BPS. They xcalibur cranks caught my eye, they have some really great colors, i picked up a gil color, almost like a pumpkin seed. Whats yall opnion on them Quote
endless Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I like their rattle traps in gold/black. The one knocker has been a producer for me as well. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 10, 2012 Super User Posted March 10, 2012 The Xcs square bills are top notch and the hooks are good so I don't have to buy the bait and a pack of hooks like you do with the KVD square bills. Quote
Primus Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I'm a big fan of both sizes of the Zell Pop, one of the best poppers out there. Quote
buzzfrog Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 thank you guys, will have to invest in some, usally when they are pretty they are bad at catching fish lol I beleive they have some at dicks, i have a few coupons or there pre-season sale Quote
Packard Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Their lipless cranks are great as well as the zell pop. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted March 10, 2012 Super User Posted March 10, 2012 Haven't found a lure from them I don't like. Love the squarebills, rattlebaits, and the zell pops. Top quality finishes and the stock hooks aren't bad at all. Worth the money you'll spend on them. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 10, 2012 Global Moderator Posted March 10, 2012 All of their baits are great. They make my favorite popper (zell pop) trap, (Xr50 and Xkr50) a couple great jerkbaits, a good walking bait, and good squarebills. Quote
drew4779 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I love the square bills and so do the spotted bass. I've caught some great fish on them. They're silent without rattles, which I think is a good change of pace. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 As mentioned the lipless crank baits are top notch also will give props to the eeratic shad jerk baits Quote
buzzfrog Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 glad to see sutch love for em.. and yes i finally opened it and those hooks are pretty dang good out of the package Quote
POPRG Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 xcalibur bait have been great for me! From traps to topwater, all well made, tough baits. one thing i noticed last year was in the "bargain bin" at DSG,there were xcalibur spooks & cranks @ 3/$6.00,and two racks over were the same EXACT baits in a heddon package for $6.99 each? I guess pradco made changes and had to blow out the existing/old xcaliburs?? Spooks, swimmin' /spittin' images and squarebill cranks were all in the same bin and i stocked up!..still have em @ 2/$5.00 but the selection is limited. Quote
cajun_flipper Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 The Xcalibur Spittin' Image is my go to bait for speckled trout. Also it is responsible for one of the largest bass I've ever caught when I lived in Texas. Its a great topwater. I can't testify on their other products, but I keep Spittin Images in several colors. catchnm Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Xcalibur and Excaliber baits are different I believe aren't they? Quote
SausageFingers Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 The square bills and the Xr50's are great baits. Quote
Crankenstein Crony Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I have 5 or 6 of the XCS 100 series square bills and I like them a lot. They have strong bills, they deflect off wood and other structure really good, and they have good action. The Zell Pop is a great popper too! Quote
POPRG Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Xcalibur and Excaliber baits are different I believe aren't they? Just looked at two packages..xcalibur [2010] XCS100 crank and an excalibur [2003] super spook..both have the same mailing address @ Jenny Lind Rd. Fort Smith AR. Quote
