I.rar Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 got out to the local spot today for a few. brought along my light spinning outfit to see if the peas were out and wanted to play. after quite a few casts , i hook into this beast. i got some pics but didnt have tape measure with me. im guessing about 21" going by how she measured along the rod. somewhere around 7-8#? i called it a trip after that and headed home. its been a while since i caught a solid largemouth and this definitely made my day. catching this one really makes me really hate being stuck on shore and want to invest in float tube so i can get further out. this is the biggest ive seen come from this lake but ive heard of some pigs being caught here a while ago. 1 Quote

Bryce C Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Awesome fish, congrats! Those photos are awesome....looks like saltwater bonefish flats, but with big greenies!! Quote
Fat-G Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 You know, that's a gorgeous fish. Very healthy, awesome looking waters, and cool that you caught it on light tackle. I just realized though, that's the only bass I can ever recall seeing out of FL that isn't almost black with color. And it's because of the water and sunlight. Awesome fish. Quote
I.rar Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Ita funny you mention that G. There's a couple lakes in my area that have super clear water like that. One of them has a neighbor lake that can't be more than 1/4 mile away who's water is pretty stained in color and holds those dark colored bass. Quote
GLADES Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Is that lake you fish aquifer spring fed? The water looks really nice. Nice healthy bass too, she look to be in the 6-7 range. Quote
hookset on 3 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 What a tropical paradise! Count your blessings just to be wading in that beautiful azure water, casting for LMB. Great Job Tony. Quote
The one that got away Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Awesome PB, and on light tackle no less. Congrats Quote
