I'm looking into getting me a nice all around 7'6" micro MH casting rod and wasn't sure which of these two to get. Does any one have any suggestions, opinions or experiences with either of these two rods. They both have warrenties, but you still have to pay money with either of them if you need to exchance it for another one, so the warrenty is limited. Thanks

Where did you see the white ice rods?? I ask because no one has laid eyes on them since ICAST and I didn't see any of the Dukett Pros sporting these rods yet. I think you may want to look at different brands or different rods from these two, as I said, the white ice rods aren't around yet and the Rage series hasn't got many good reviews. Most of what I get from talking to those with experience when it comes to the rage rods are that the build quilty is really sub par for Croix and just about any other rod in the $150 range. Even if yo could find a white ice you may want to wait a year or so, when the micro magic hit the shelves there was a ton of breakage issues but it seems they have taken care of that.

With St Croix's warrenty, if the rod fail because of them, you pay nothing, except shipping. If you step on it, shut it in the car door, high stick a fish, basicly if it's your fault etc.....it will cost you $50 (and shipping). Thats a pretty good "limited" warrenty to me. It's called the Gold Star service plan, and cost's nothing extra. I have used it a time or two, and it was hassel free. I have no idea what the Duckett warranty is, and don't plan to ever find out, those rods don't impress me.

I have 2 of the Rage rods and really like them. I bought both of mine in store so I could look at the guides to make sure they were lined up well. They cast really well and I love the feeling of the handle. It's very comfortable in my hands no matter how long I use them. If you need any further convincing you may want to check out a couple of pictures of fish a memeber by the name of Big-O catches. He uses a 7' 11" Rage rod and and catches more fish over 10lbs in a month than I'll catch in my life :eyebrows:

My mistake it isn't the white ice rod, I was refering to the micro magic rods.

If you look at the rods you want in person you would be better off, St. Croix rods are a premium brand and have a good reputation but it seems they build qulaity isn't consistant and the main complaint from a lot of different sources is the guides are all over the place and most aren't close to lining up. The micro magic rods are different, a lot of guys really like them but they have had breakage issues so if you are going to go that route you need to make sure you're buying from a dealer that sells a lot of them so you don't end up with one of the first one and sadly there isn't any way to tell.

I have only held the rage rods in the store, but i have 4 Ducketts and i LOVE them. I havent had any issues at all. I would give you this advice though, check out a Carbon Lite rod. Its just as sensitive and light as the Duckett and cheaper.

I recently was looking for a 7' med action and looked at the micro veritas rage and ducket I'm a st croix guy have 3 of the ltb's and love them. The rage just felt unbalanced to me and didn't care for the grip much. the veritas and ducket felt very similar but they only had the veritas in a medhvy at the bps so I went with the ducket only used it a little but I think I'm going to like it

I ended up buying the duckett micro magic in 7'6" MH. I really love this rod, it will cast a mile. I can also cast my alabama rig and Huddlestone ROF5 as well as my crankbaits. I will saw what everyone else says is this rod runs a little on the light side. So a MH is a little bit heavier than then a M but lighter than a typical MH. All in all i'm glad I bought this rod.
