Super User flyfisher Posted January 11, 2013 Super User Posted January 11, 2013 i think johnson had a pushbroom stache, rollie fingers had the handlebar. I didn't know there was a difference....guess now that i learned something new i can call my day complete
Super User A-Jay Posted January 11, 2013 Super User Posted January 11, 2013 I forgot about the bird. Now that I'm remembering it, I think all the animal rights groups were complaining about it - like he did it on purpose or something.  Here ya go ~  A-Jay Â
Super User MCS Posted January 11, 2013 Super User Posted January 11, 2013 Here ya go ~ A-Jay  Now that is legendary.  Johnson was awesome, deffinately should be in the HOF. That was the allstar when he threw behind Kruk was in Baltimore at the yard.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 12, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 12, 2013 Justin Upton vetoed a trade to Seattle. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/01/justin-upton-rejects-trade-to-mariners.html
Super User MCS Posted January 13, 2013 Super User Posted January 13, 2013 Wow ^^^ that is a shocker. Az gets some decent pitching prospects, they look like the will be go to go in a few yrs.
Super User MCS Posted January 13, 2013 Super User Posted January 13, 2013 Justin Upton vetoed a trade to Seattle. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/01/justin-upton-rejects-trade-to-mariners.html RE-JECTED! Upton used his no trade clause. GM says no hurry So is AZ plans to play him right, they are just trying to move him before FA? Guess I will just stear clear in the draft
Super User flyfisher Posted January 13, 2013 Super User Posted January 13, 2013 He would look good in a phillies uniform 1
Super User MCS Posted January 14, 2013 Super User Posted January 14, 2013 Â Pretty nice lineup and rotation they have there in the Capital. I think all said and done, they have improved since last year with Span and Haren, retaining LaRoche......Can't say the same for the O's though they really haven't improved much, hope they were legit and not just a one year wonder.
Super User flyfisher Posted January 14, 2013 Super User Posted January 14, 2013 the thing about hte nationals is they had player have career years which is not to be expected every season. Now they do have some young talent that can improve but i am not 100% sold on them as of yet....they won the division when overall it was down year except for the braves. The phillies had their number the second half of the season. It is going to be a great season regardless though. I jsut hope the phillies can stay healthy.

Out of the two teams I think the nats have more logical upsdie and potential to replicate last season. where the O's might be screwed pitching wise. Hitting they really were that great and they can replicate, Machado may improve and better the numbers that Reynolds had. DH is still a ? But I think the nats have a nice solid lineup.... Now for the Phils they are set the east is theirs to lose.
Super User flyfisher Posted January 14, 2013 Super User Posted January 14, 2013 I will be anxious to see the AL east this year for sure. With toronto loading up and the orioles and their success last year it coudl make for a very interesting season from top to bottom in that division.  I wouldn't be surprised one bit if every team is at or within a few games of .500 for the season.

Super User flyfisher Posted January 16, 2013 Super User Posted January 16, 2013 The big thing i am watching for the phillies if their bullpen can hold a lead. I think last year their bullpen lost them 20+ games. Even if they win half of those games, which is pretty realistic, they would have been in the playoffs.  Even with their bad bullpen it is going to be all about the offense for the phillies. I can only dream what that team would thev been like with the current pitching and the 2006-2010 offense they had.........

Super User flyfisher Posted January 16, 2013 Super User Posted January 16, 2013 good thing they have some horses at the front end of the rotation Yeah they do as long as Halladay gets it together this year. Nothing is more painful to watch than your starter throwing a nice game coming out in the 8th and seeing a lead disintegrate. I can't tell you how many directv remotes i replace during the baseball season....i actually go buy a few extra just to have on hand now

They really need a DH but are not willing to spend the $ to bring a good one in. Dunno why they don't resign Thome then, he just wants to get his HR number good 1 yr stop gap. Pitching wise, baring regression of Hammel or Cheng, Tillman, Gonzalez and then there are like 6 players vying for the 5th spot. We also have the last two years early first round picks coming up, Bundy and Guasman, thus they don't want to commit to a high dollar established pitcher believing in the development of the youngsters. The bullpen is pretty much set, they were good last year, they will be good this year too. So no, dispite the fact we have a mediocre Offense the GM and owner think we are good to go. SMH.
Super User MCS Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Morse to Seattle while Nats get some pitching prospects from the a's in return the a's get John jaso from Seattle to complete the deal.
Super User MCS Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Schilling not legendary ? ? ? Didn't you see the Bloody Sock Game ? - Com'On Man . . .  People are naming pets after the guy ~ "heel Curt"   A-Jay  Here ya go A-Jay, thought you might get a kick out of this. Super User flyfisher Posted January 22, 2013 Super User Posted January 22, 2013 Phillies add..........Delmon Young... Â Yeah I was trying to figure that one oit
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 23, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 23, 2013 Phillies add..........Delmon Young...   I don't think it's a bad signing. It's only for one year, and for well under one million dollars. They need outfield help, and he hit lefties really well last year. Worse comes to worse, they have a decent platoon guy in RF. 1
