Super User MCS Posted August 2, 2012 Super User Posted August 2, 2012 I'm really surprised a deal wasn't swung for Blanton...especially after the firesale in Philly. Balto was too cheap and wanted phillie to eat the salary. They say he will be a wavier wire trade or something. But man I am floored this is more big trades than I can recall. Great to see that Wild West in the NL man, should be good, 3 teams duking it out. and Texas and Anahiem/LA/Cali Angels.....The AL East is a big dissappointment, I figured all the teams would have a better record especially from Tampa and Boston. Both staffs really had some injuries and just plain been mediocre. Grabbed Arroyo Yesterday and Ludwick today. Cinci is on fire! hope they didn't peak too soon.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 3, 2012 Author Super User Posted August 3, 2012 The cool thing is there may be some more big names traded before the waiver deadline later this month: Cliff Lee, A Soriano, Carlos Lee... Brandon Phillips went down the other day with a calf injury. Let's hope it's not too long as he is one of the reasons Cinci has been on fire...that and he's my starting second baseman.

That is crazy they are going all out I kinda am rooting for them to win the west but I think it would be awesome if Cinci won it all, small market and lots of home grown talent. I like Dusty Baker, he is no BS old school says the truth kinda guy. Would be nice for him.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted August 5, 2012 Author Super User Posted August 5, 2012 -Cliff Lee will remain in Philly, as the window to negotiate with LA has closed. -Detroit acquired Jeff Baker from the cubs. -Danny Valencia goes to Boston from the Twins.

Who cares what he did as a manager, it's what he did as a player that makes him great. 1

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted September 12, 2012 Author Super User Posted September 12, 2012 How about Medlen? The guy is sick! I picked him up a month ago after his second start. For sure! I picked him up around the same time, and haven't looked back. I finished our regular season 200-156-18, which was good enough for the second best record...which is really saying something considering what a disaster my draft was.

Super User MCS Posted September 14, 2012 Super User Posted September 14, 2012 I was third with 155-110-21 good enough for third. My playoff history though is I finish first second or third then tank in the playoffs

Super User MCS Posted September 18, 2012 Super User Posted September 18, 2012 Well, I got bounced by the sixth seed. DANG!!! That sucks but it happens. LOL I made it through, it was close until sat night. then I got a lead and kept it. Beat the 5th seed, now on to number 2 who I beat 2 times already the last time was to knock him outta 1st so lets just say the statistics are not in my favor. but right now we are dead even 5-5 with 3 ties.

Super User MCS Posted September 21, 2012 Super User Posted September 21, 2012 Hope it's going well. Dude, Medlen is on FIRE. He is CRAZY OUTTA THIS WORLD! 70 IP as a starter and a 0.73 era!!!!!!!!!!! Have your wife stick that in a needle and shoot it Roger! Think it was last year, maybe the year before when he was a toughted rookie I had him but he didn't quite work out, but I had him cuz I liked him his fall call up the year before when he got hurt. Hanging in there, we are close, after I have 4 starters go today we should be closer, he is up 7-5 with alot of pitching stats in his favor, he has about 12 pitchers and no position players on the bench. My fear is that the ground I gain today and tomorrow will be lost sunday with all his SPs being double dippers this week and he may crush me on shear IP numbers like k's whip, and qal starts....Give em an extra day push em to monday skip LOL Next week
