MyKeyBe Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 If you have an Ollie's Bargain Outlet near you (seems to be more east coast), check them out. They had a 4.2 million dollar buyout of leftover 2011 fishing gear from Sports Authority. No earth shattering deals but it is 33% off Sports Authority's prices. They actually had some pretty good stuff. GYBC, Wave, Berkley, Zoom, Strike King and a bunch more. Also had reels, rods, combos, nets, hooks, and tackle boxes. Nothing real high end for rods and reels at the store I went to but they did have Shimano Sedonas and Saharas. I picked up a spool of Yozuri Hybrid for $8.70 and a Scum Frog Bigfoot for $4.35. Here's a link to there site if you want to see if you have one nearby. http://olliesbargainoutlet.com/ Quote
buzzfrog Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Guess were the only ones, I clean there watermelon and green pumpkin senkos out among other things Quote
endless Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 We're getting one near me just isn't open yet but might have to check it out. Quote
jkarol24 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 The selection at mine was awful and the "regular" prices seemed to be a few bucks more than what you can buy it for... I was fairly dissapointed, ended up not buying anything. Quote
MyKeyBe Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 Yeah, the prices where kinda wacky. The yozuri line I bought was priced at $12.99. About what I would expect but rage tails at $6.99? Rapala's at $8-$9? The GYBC stuff they had was priced at around $6.00 and the kinami baits at about $5.00. With 33% off of those prices, thats not bad. Like I said, not the best deals but worth a look. Quote
robdob Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 the ollies in burnham pa has tons of tackle and every bit of it costs more than it would at the original store... the $1.00 spinnerbaits and buzzbaits from walmart are at ollies and they want 2.99... they have been a buck for the past 5 years at walmart lol.... also they have stren 100 percent flouro.. at walmart brand new the line is ten bucks ollies is asking 15.99. the prices for fishing tackle at the burnham pa ollies is just insane i hope its just a local store with a clueless manager and not the entire company of ollies trying to rip folks off Quote
buzzfrog Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 olies dont now crap, they bought out a store tackle store, you know the usall tackle stores thant charge an arm and a leg, so then they put 33% off the wacked out prices, ya just gotta pick and choose, i got some seugur fluro for 6 bux Quote
Flukeman Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 We have three Ollie's near us and they are all insane. Rapala lures are all marked $11.99. You can buy these at BPS, Dicks, and Walmart for $8 or $9. About 80% of the items are over priced like that, and some of it is even worse. They had some Plano tackle boxes I just looked at BPS for $11.99, Ollie's price was $19.99. they need a 75% off sale to even call it a sale after the mark ups they have put on everything.. Quote

Aagain they didnt mark it up, if you look a half of it, well at mine they have other retailers tags on em and then some were written with a magic marker i asked the manager and he said the got it how they got it, and then just did the 33% off Quote
Flukeman Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Almost all of the stuff at ours had yellow or red clearance tickets removed, leaving the original manufacturers tags. I told our guy at the first one I went to that they were way high on the hand priced Rapala's compared to the other stores. He told me they were told what they were supposed to mark them. The other stores were also marked the same way(except one store was red marker, same prices), so I did not question what he said. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted March 28, 2012 Super User Posted March 28, 2012 Some of the items werent bad. Really though they ripped off the clearance prices off somewhat decade old stuff and made them the highest price today, to add the % off. Quote
