Shane Procell Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 In the market for a boat. You south Florida guys know how it is in dry season so my rig needs to be able to launch most of the year and perform in places like Lox and the Interceptor. I live on the intercoastal so a hybrid or flats boat is also an option. I need to be able to fish 3 people. Another key consideration is weight since I will be pulling it with my Jeep. Needs to be in the sub 10k range. Considering these points what are some of the boats out there that you would consider? Quote
GLADES Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 It is not under 10K, but I like this one for salt/fresh fishing. I like the fact that is completely unsinkable. Action Craft 2020 Flats Master http://www.actioncra...Craft_Boats.htm Check out craigslist south Florida..i could not paste the links here A couple of nice flats boats for under 10K Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 12, 2012 Super User Posted March 12, 2012 Tough decision, Shane. I have a 19' aluminum Tracker with a 90 Merc Optimax. The boat was 19k out the door new 5 yrs ago and their prices are still about the same. I'm sure you could find a used one for less than 10k. I fish mine in Lox and have taken it in salt for Snook with no probs. My boat will comfortably fish 3 people. The biggest drawback to my boat is the wind. Strong wind (15+) will push you around like a piece of paper because the boat is so light. Quote
