Hey, Jeff.

One thing you may want to consider is removing your phone number and other personal info when allowing anybody to take a look at your resume. Generally speaking, that's not a wise choice in this day and age.

First I would like to thank you for taking time to look over what I have to offer and my proposal for a partnership/ sponsorship with your company. I am a tournament bass angler competing in several different organizations and divisions. Thus far I have been in club and local tournaments near Guntersville, AL, and Richmond, IN. I am now ready to compete at a higher level, and with continued hard work and sponsorship I believe I will be successful as a pro.

Bass fishing has become a popular and a lucrative sport, not only for the anglers but for the companies which are involved with products and sponsorships as well. The exposure bass fishing circuits are receiving is also growing with show and tournaments appearing on cable and satellite channels such as NBC Sports, Outdoor Channel, and even ESPN. Plus there are also 100’s of different social media sites specifically targeting the ordinary angler as well as those who compete in tournaments.

My intentions are to become a member of your sales and marketing team who will promote your products and services and therefore help improve your overall bottom line. As part of a sponsorship agreement, I would advertise and promote your company in a number of ways. I would wear your company’s logo and information on my clothing, and display it on my vehicle and bass boat. I also will maintain a website and be posting on other sites using a signature and link to available information concerning your company. I will make myself available for promotions, events, and any other situations you deem necessary for me to attend or be a part of. In return, your sponsorship will help me reach my goals and dreams of succeeding at the next level and fishing professionally. Again, I would like to thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to being in contact with you and discussing this personally.

Resume follows:

Jeff Linker

Purpose:

I am interested in beginning a partnership/ sponsorship with you and your company that will grow with time, experience, and exposure. I as well as others have used your company’s products and services throughout my life and intend to continue to do so. As part of this partnership I would promote and represent your company’s and services in every aspect of my daily life, not only as a tournament angler. I would proudly display and advertise your company’s logo on my tournament attire, tow vehicle, and boat. Also, I have already begun designing a website that will follow my daily life as well as my tournament career. It will have links to your company’s website and other information provided which would help promote your products and services. In addition, I would be available to help with sales, promotions, and any other events or situations that would increase knowledge of your company and “spread the word.” I believe I have a great deal to offer your company that would be beneficial to your sales, marketing, and help the company as a whole. Along with this, I give my word that I will conduct myself in a very professional moral manner. I will make sure I always remember I am a representative of the company.

Thanks for that, Jeff. I would say trim the Opening, Purpose, and Personal down to a few sentences, and keep at as one "Background" section. Rather than document your upcoming schedule, write about your past accomplishments.

Thanks for everything you've done for this country Jeff. Hope this works out for you. One question I have; 4/14 and 8/18 appear that they will be very busy days for you....are you fishing the BFL then a later afternoon tourney?

From one veteran to another, thank you for your service Jeff. The Army and Marine Corps? Way to go.

To be quite honest, you don't need much help with your resume. You took a lot of time and put a lot of thought into your presentation. You hit all the important aspects and you know how to write. Very clean and simple.

Jeff, one thing to think about a little bit. How are you going to help the sponsor "move product"? A patch on a shirt and a logo on a social media site are one thing. But, if you came out with an idea where a sponsor could measure what you're doing to "market" and "move product", that can work to your advantage.

Tourney results needed and you could fine tune your fishing strenghts to specific sponsers.
