Ever think about this or plan for it yet?

What can we really do about it anyway. "maybe or goinna happen or what will happen are big guesses?" I don't dwell on it i figure everyday i life is a blessing now anyway.

I'm stocking up on all fishing supplies figuring if we need food i can supply the fish. I have a water shed nearby thats unfished. We can all supply fish if need be.

I'm buying up crankbaits & plastics mainly.

Thats all i'm going to say about that.

I'm stocked up on fishing stuff. I got enough firepower and ammo to supply a third world army. 3 SWAT helmets, 3 sets of body armour (with the cermaic plates), 3 sets of gas masks with enough spare cartridges to last 3 yrs. Plus a nice little stash of H2O. I'm pretty well set. Just to clarify, I'm not paranoid or one of those "the end is coming" people. I just feel that luck favors the prepared. And honestly this is stuff I have accumulated over the years. The fact I now have a stockpile is beside the point. It wasn't meant to be that, it just kinda became that. I also really like the number 3. If you didn't notice.

I've got the ammo and weapons and living in Maine there is plenty of wild things to live off from. I just hope if the end of the worlds comes that I'm in my boat fishing or out in the woods hunting! If I'm stuck at work I will be very unhappy!

I was having coffee with Yeti and Sasquatch the other day and trying to come up with a reasonable explaination for the crop circles last fall. It all lays in the pyramids of Peru, that we could agree on. For me, Life as I know it ends on 7-1-2014 when I retire.

Absolutely !! Better than that was yeti had some pepperoni made from wild goose and duck. That and some smoked cheese. Those guys even went together and started their own micro brew. I sold my Glock to buy shares.

So this end of the world thing, what day are we talking about? Mayan Calendar of December whatever?

If so, does anybody know what time this happens? Midnight, Sunrise, Noon?

Local bar is holding an end of the world party the night before and I figure it's the perfect time to get completely wasted. The only thing is when to start. If the end comes at midnight, I should really start early. If the world doesn't blow up until noon, then I need to pace myself as I'd hate to wake up and suffer the hangover.

BTW, I've decided my best option was to write a check for the bar tab as it will never have the chance to bounce!

Self Reliance isn't a bad thing.

I have 7 day survival kits for each member of my family, a six month supply of food, the supplies I need to provide for my family, and the knowledge to use what I have. But it's not for the end of the world. It's not for a war. It serves a purpose that is much more likely to happen. You see, I have been volunteering for disaster clean up since I was old enough to pack my truck up and drive to wherever I was needed. I've seen what hurricanes and tornado's do to entire communities. I've seen a father break into tears when I showed up with supplies to see if I could help him out. They were tears of relief from total helplessness. He was a pitiful sight. I don't ever want that to happen to my family and I don't ever want to feel like that father did. If a natural disaster hits my area and we are cut off from any kind of aid for any length of time I want to know that we will be as fine as we can be. I know that we will be able to live for any length of time with no power, no clean water, or even with no house. Hopefully we will also be it a position to help our neighbors out to.

The 6 month supply of food is also there to help out if something less drastic happens like the loss of my job. It will help us to make ends meet until I am able to find a new job and get the finances under control.

If you have your health, and have planned for retirement, you'll find it is when life begins. You will not have to order your life around job responsibilities. Get a chance to get away on a whim, do it. Want to sleep in, do it. The time you have remaining is yours, and yours alone. Enjoy it.

Friends try to get me involved in local organizations or activities, and I turn them down. I do not want to commit to monthly, quarterly, or even annual obligations. I enjoy my freedom too much.

OK, they've got supplies to last them a year. Then what? If things get that bad, those conditions will exist for years, maybe decades. I remember the days of bomb shelters that could protect from radiation. At some point their supplies would run out and they would have two options. Stay hunkered down and slowly starve to death, or come out and be exposed to radiation and die from a combination of starvation and radiation poisoning. Better to go out in a ball of flame.

What will the preppers find when they finally have to crawl out of their bunkers?

There is a vast difference between surviving, and living.

Yep, if you are so afraid of dying that you are willing to kill as many as it takes to survive just to live in a world that is completely obliterated.......you have problems. If it comes it comes and i'd rather die like a man than live like a coward.
