Yozuri Hybrid?

Im thinking about using #12 on a baitcaster and #8 on a spincast. Ive heard some good things about it but im new to copolymer and fluoro lines. Is this line a good line for casting and sensitivity?

I use Yozuri Hybrid for a few of my applications and I like the line. Its tough and with some line conditioner, is very manageable.

I know that I am in the minority but I don't like Yo Zuri Hybrid. I thought it was very springy. I also don't think that you should have to apply a line conditioner to a line to make it a good line. I like P Line CX Premium better.

Great line. Bullet proof. Been using it for years and its been great. I owe my personal best to its abrasion resistance. Hooked an 11.4 fish on a medium action rod. She wrapped me around a horizontal tree that I didn't know was there. For about 2 minutes u could hear the high tension sound of that fish sawing back and forth...eventually she came out thank God.

Yo Zuri has been my line of choice for almost two years. I have yet to break a fish off and it handles as well as most any line.

Love you Yo-Zuri Hybrid line, but I would use Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft for spinning gear. I have been Yo-Zuri for a long time and only apply KVD L&L ocassionally. My experience with P-Line fishing line has not been good at all.

I have used Yo-zuri hybrid ultrasoft for the past few years. I like several things about it:

the line is very strong for its diameter

the line is very manageable

the line is very cost effective...

I especially like the #6 with spinning tackle....line breaks at 11.9 lbs is very manageable.

I also use KVD line-n-lure.

Tell you the truth, I always fish braid and never had any good outcomes with mono or fluoro. I just so happened to give this line a chance to prove that there is something that I can use other than braid to be strong enough for me, and its awesome! I use the 20# due to I like to fish for snakeheads often down here, and this stuff is TOUGH! I recommend it, you wont regret it.

Hybrid is awesome stuff. I like the 10 and 12 for my baitcasting setups.

I haven't tried it on a spinning rig yet, though I've heard good things about the Ultra Soft.

I have quite a few spools of Hybrid, but hardly use it any more other than for leader material, or long-pole (no reels) fishing. Sensitive, yes. More cost-effective than pure FC lines, for sure.

For me, P-Line Floroclear is my favorite. Just my experience. I did like the performance of 10 and 12 lb Hybrid on my baitcasters tho. Did not like Hybrid or Ultrasoft much on spinning gear for mainline, even with line conditioner. But the wider the spinning spool, the better. I like smaller reels, hence:

I've changed all of my spinning gear to braid for mainline and various leader material. Braid is just that much better for management on spinning gear in my experience. With the right leader-to-mainline knot there are no worries about having a weak point in the line. Knots that have not failed me:

, and in 2nd place, Uni-to-Uni. The link shows both knots via Knot Wars. The slicker the line, I find the Modified Albright to be better.

My .02 having tried a bunch of lines. You should definitely try Hybrid out and decide for yourself. Might be the ticket for you.

I have transitioned over to using YZ Ultrasoft on nearly all my combos - both spinning and baitcast. I do run braid on a couple rigs and flouro on a couple rigs. Reasons were as stated above - good abrasion resistance, great strength-to-diameter, good enough on other line characteristics, and very cost effective. I mostly use 6lb on spinning and 10 pound on baitcast but also use 8lb as well. I've used the 6lb on spinning spool diameters as small as a Pflueger 25-size. I don't use any line conditioner on the US.

I'm obviously committed to YZ as shown in the photo. Can't beat getting a 1lb spool of YZ-US (say - 5,800 yards of 10lb) for $25 plus shipping - about what some folks pay for 150 to 300 yards of flouro or braid...

got turned onto it by this site and have 10lb on my baitcasters which is pretty good for 75 percent of my applications. have one with braid, and one with mono as well. i have 6lb on my one spinning outfit, and i have 8lb 100 fluro on another. that stuff casts like junk!!!!! its abrasion resistance is mediocre at best and i will rpboably switch it out for hybrid this year.

I have to make an amendment to my previous statement in this topic. I was digging through my box of fishing line on Friday and came upon a spool of Hybrid, 6lb test in camo green. I didn't realize I had a spool of Hybrid in that color (have in UltraSoft, not impressed with color there, too milky, but this is different). Probably picked it up a year ago and threw it in the bin.

Anyhow, a fan of green lines (P-Line's mist-green), this camo green is pretty nice, a bit darker hue than P-Line's mist green, but pretty much as clear as P-Line.

So I tried it on Friday afternoon tied on as leader to my PowerPro mainline. Caught two nice bass, one 2.3 lbs, to one between 3-4 lb based on my buddy and my estimation, she threw the hook as I bent down to take her by the lip. Nary a problem with the Hybrid. I actually liked it. Felt confidence in the line. Even snagged it on a branch underwater and was able to retrieve my line, hook (Gamakatsu #2 wide gap finesse).

Impressed enough to order a 600 yard spool of it in green, 8 lb test, tonight off of ebay for about $9 shipped.

Holy Crap, I'm not the only one anymore.

I'm actually trying out C21 now, been just a few days use but I can say it's a little bit stiffer than CX and doesn't have the fluro coating which is something I was looking to get back to since Gamma doesn't know how to stock a fishing store shelf anymore.

I've been using 6lb C21 for my trout setup and I think its alright strength wise but twists up bad and doesn't hold up well.
