Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 3, 2012 Super User Posted March 3, 2012 I'm looking for a good waffle maker and was wondering if any of you make waffles at home? What should I look for when purchasing one? Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted March 3, 2012 Super User Posted March 3, 2012 I prefer a waffle iron over a waffle maker. Anyway, we got a Hamilton Beach one that works real well. Had it for 8 years now and it works like the day we got it. Really isn't too much to look for that I know of. Just pick a brand and go for it. 1 Quote

That's funny Raider, I was going to type in iron, but when I was doing a search I got more results on waffle makers...ROFL...thanks anyway, bud Quote
MyKeyBe Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Like Raider said I don't think there is to much to look for. We have an Oster and it makes waffles. Teflon coated would be the only thing I would worry about. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Iv'e been married to my waffle maker for over 38 years. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted March 3, 2012 Super User Posted March 3, 2012 I have this one its ok I guess the kids love the thing. The light that comes on/off isnt all that useful I usually let it cook longer than it times out. It calls for putting oil in the mix but I just spray PAM on it otherwise they stick. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&q=bella+rotating+waffle+maker+reviews&um=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1015&bih=540&wrapid=tlif133074162233110&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=13974522880791857005&sa=X&ei=lIFRT-35JYbd0QHdpqC7DQ&ved=0CHIQ8wIwAg# 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 3, 2012 Author Super User Posted March 3, 2012 Thanks QUAKEnSHAKE, I forgot about the rotating models, I'll have to look into to that. The one we have doesn't rotate and only delivers about 600 watts of power, so it takes a while for the waffles to cook and get browned. My wife was hoping to get one with removable hot plates so she could throw them in the dishwasher, so I'll have to research that a bit as well. Thanks again. Quote
guitarkid Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 some foreman grills come with waffle plates, plus you have the other 72 plates to cook everything else on too. -gk Quote
Stasher1 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I bought one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009K3SY/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk for the wife about five years ago and we love it. It makes killer waffles, just like the ones you get at a hotel. Quote
