Super User Crestliner2008 Posted March 2, 2012 Super User Posted March 2, 2012 Most lakes and river systems out here, in western MA, are free of ice. The fish are turning on too. Hitting some nice yellows and crappie, walking the banks. This recent snow storm will pose some problems with high, muddy run off, but I'll bet they're still feeding and preparing for the spawn. Just wondering how many of you are taking advantage of this early open water season. Quote
patbfishing123 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Must be nice. Still covered pretty good out here in western NY. I've been checking the water just about everyday and monitoring the weather to see what next week will bring. So far it looks like we might be thawed pretty good by the middle of next week!! I can't wait to get my line wet! Quote

Super User J Francho Posted March 2, 2012 Super User Posted March 2, 2012 Most waters along Lake O. never got any further than skim ice. Guys have been whacking the perch and 'eyes all winter long. Quote
