mmoritz11 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 i know the veritas is a little "better" in general but i wanted to see what everyones opinions were on which one to use for jigs/texas rigs and which one to use for crankbaits or anything else. i was planning on buying both at the BPS sale this weekend. Pantera61 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I think you would be fine with the Vendetta 6'9" rod for jigs and worms. I didn't like the Vendetta 7' crankin' rod. There is a crankbait specific Veritas rod, actually 2. Quote
The Next KVD Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Veritas would be my pick based on they got a 3year warranty over a 1 year warranty for an additional $10. Also, there are crank specific rods in the Veritas lineup. Quote

I have both rods and and I like them but I would take the Veritas every time! You could fish both rods with jigs/T-rig's but the think the Veritas has more sensitivity. If you want a crankbait rod I would look into a glass rod or glass/graphite rod. I think that these two rods are too stiff of a tip for cranks. Quote
SausageFingers Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 My preference is the Veritas. Its lighter and has better balance, in my opinion. That said, I own mutliple Vendettas as well and I throw them regularly. They are light and strong as well. You can't go wrong with either rod, but the Veritas would be my first choice if the $99 price tag is within your budget. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 2, 2012 Super User Posted March 2, 2012 To me, the biggest difference between the two besides color is the guides, either rod will be fine, I have a Vendetta and was very pleased and it is the lowest price rod I own but it goes out with me every trip, it is versatile and a fantastic caster with a lot of backbone. Whatever you choose will work. Quote
