preach4bass Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Some sort of game that I hun has been in season here in eastern NC since September 1st (Goose, Dove, Duck, Squirrel, or Deer). The last of the seasons (squirrel) ended today. I'm not a turkey hunter, so it's time to get busy in the garden until goose and early teal comes back in on September 1st. Anyone else go through hunting withdrawls? Quote

Anyone else go through hunting withdrawls? Why don't you turkey hunt? I love it just as much if not more than duck hunting. It's a serious rush having a bird spitting/drumming 20 yards away. Quote

bassnleo Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I look at it this way.........yes, the main season may be over but Spring turkey season here in PA is a month long and it's like a whole other hunting season in itself. If you hunt all the game indicated, you have got to try turkeys in the Spring. Frankly, it's my absolute favorite time to be in the woods. Quote

bassinKS Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Im with you i hunt from September 1st to may when conservation season for snow geese is over but like others i fish for my hunting withdraws. and like you again i don't turkey hunt, Ive done it before just don't like it i hate ticks and it just doesn't get my blood flowing like having ducks locked up and committed at 20yrds in your decoys after you called them in. Im a die hard waterfowler and on the last day of duck season i stay from the minute shooting time starts till the last second of shooting time. Quote
