What do you all do to reduce the number of lures you have laying loose around your boat? I know the easy solution is to put them back in your box, but I find myself hanging them off of everything I can find close rather than going back to my box.

BTW...my box is one of the double sided style and I have found that if I have to go to it 10 times, I have to flip it all 10 to get to the side I want.

A trick that I have seen anglers use around here is a styrofoam cooler.  It keeps drinks, or JJ's magic cool and the sides give you a place to stick your hooks into for fast access without them sliding around or damaging your boat.

Use a small plastic lure box for lures you've removed while you're out on the lake.  When you're finished for the day, return all lures to their original containers.

Good tip, but if you have a small boat a cooler may take up too much space. I stuck rectangular pieces of styrofoam to the wall of my jon boat with velcro. Reduces clutter and you can hang a bunch of lures you think you may be using on the trip. An added bonus is it keeps you from banging a tackle box around making noise.

I use a tool tote from the dollar store. I drill holes on the lip all the way around for hook hanging. I use this as my primary box that holds my favorite baits for most depth ranges. I don't have to open a box to get a lure out, and no lures go back in wet. 10 spinnerbaits, 2 topwaters, 2 rattlebaits, 4 cranks <4', about 6 cranks to 10' deep, 2-14'ers, 4-16+', 6 jigs, 3 chatterbaits, and a few assorted grubs/tubes all fit in this thing. Best $4 i ever spent on fishing gear.....

Thanks all...I was thinking about attaching a magnetic strip (like one you find in a tool box). My v-hull has a 4" or so ledge inside the boat that is a good collector, but it's carpeted and everything that I put on it gets hung up.

Personally I keep the bulk of my stuff at home, but this may not work for everyone.  I either fish from the shore or a kayak so I'm limited on space.  I keep a box with a little bit of everything and update it before I go out depending on what I think I may need for that trip.
