je1946 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Hey all, I'm a new member from Ma, I'm recently retired, so I'm looking forward to the extra fishing time. I've been an avid bass fisherman for 25yrs, fish mostly in Maine,& NH, but I love chasing the Smallies on the Big Q, in Ma, haven't caught any of those occassinal 6 lbs from there, but I'll never stop trying. I own 2 boats, one is a 16ft set up for the Quabbin, the other is a 17ft Lund. Quote

NBR Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Welcome, I am also retired and live in the NH lakes region. Best thing about retirement is I rarely fish on weekends and I've become a comfort fisherman, i.e. I no longer challenge miserable weather, boat traffic or other things that make me uncomfortable. I live 45 minutes or much less from Winni, Waukewan, Squam and Newfound. So I can come and go almost as easy as if the boat was docked and I can fish several lakes without much effort. The only issue I've had is it is getting to be a bit of a chore to launch and recover and my fishing buddies have either passed or moved to warmer climates. So I fish alone a lot. My boat is an 18'11" fiberglass with a 150 Merc. It is old but has served me well and I've been fortunate enough to have a garage to keep it out of the weather. I have been fortunate to fish a variety of lakes from Rainy and Lake of the Woods amoung many others in the north country, to St. Clair on both sides of the border, Also been to Dale Hollow and for largies Big O, Eaufaula, AL, Reelfoot and several other southern places. Frankly, if Winni's boat traffic wasn't so insane Winni would probably be my all time favorite. Shoot me a PM at any time . Quote

bass crazy Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 HI from Amesbury, Ma and welcome. I am retired also and fish a lone out of a 17' bass tracker . I have the launching/retriving down pretty good. Fish southern NH. exclusively actually Patuckaway Lake and Kingston Lake before memorial day before it gets crowded. Limited fnances and fuel costs slow my fishing down. Quote
The one that got away Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Welcome to BR, je1946. Keep an eye out in the local forums, some of the area guys try to get together several times a year. I haven't made it to one yet, but hope to this year. Quote
