Super User Hooligan Posted March 1, 2012 Super User Posted March 1, 2012 Shady that they give u a coupon for the reel when u walk in the door. You think they don't know that you're not gonna go back and ask for your reel back if they dont have what u want? They are a business with a marketing department after all, and know what they are doing... I mean, it is cool that those reels go to the kids and all, but if they were doing it for the charity, they could donate some new ones no??? Also get a nice write off I'm sure as well... Most stores don't do it that way. They're at the reel counter and the only way you even get a coupon is if you find a reel you want to purchase. They then hand you a coupon with the value of your coupon circled and the reel your intending to purchase as you give them your trade reel. Nothing shady about it at all. JF I agree wholly, the amount of pure bunk that people were bringing was ridiculous. Then again, I saw a few of them being denied, too. Quote
KansasBassin Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I went to my BPS on the second day of the reel trade. I KNEW they'd be out of the new Carbonlites so I didn't bring a reel to trade in. Sure enough they were sold out and had no idea when they'd get more in. So on the last day of the trade I called and they had a stack of them back in stock. I had them hold one of them for me, they said they could only hold it for 24hrs but I had it picked up in 1 hr. I was also surprised they had some 51e left. I went on day 1 to get a Carbonlite about 11am, they were sold out and the dude at the reel counter helping me played dumb and said they weren't getting anymore. He didn't normally work at the counter you could tell that. I ended up getting the Quantum KVD PT 7:1, real nice out of the box, I think I will stick with it. Going to get a new rod this weekend to go with it. Quote
